Character Idea - the fae
Hi! Here is an idea I came up with for a killer. I feel like dbd would benefit from a more interactive killer, also one that isnt licensed that is more accessible for people who can't spend auric cells.
A female killer, a fairy-like being. She has a soft and gentle aesthetic and she produces a light singing in her terror radius such as huntress. She floats a bit but cannot go over objects.
She gains her power by tricking survivors. Either by picking up a false item/looting a false chest, offering a certain amount of progression to a gen in exchange for a stack towards her power, things like that.
Once she hits the necessary stacks to gain her full ability, her appearance becomes very dark and creepy. The singing heard before will cover the entire map and you will not be able to distinguish which direction she comes from. She will glow slightly which will be the only indicator she is nearby.
Her power will distort objects when nearby, similar to when the doctor makes a survivor achieve complete madness and skill checks become more difficult to hit. It would appear as if the survivor was seeing underwater. Her full ability will allow for fast movement and instant downs alongside the distortion of objects/skillchecks/etc.
She is very powerful but if the survivors play correctly it can allow for a prevention of her receiving her full potential. As she gains stacks her speed will increase slightly and her singing's radius will get larger.
Obviously she would need tweaking to ensure balance, it's important to me that survivors don't feel powerless, but with the right strategy both the killer and survivor can outplay each other. It would allow for much more interaction and a larger skillcap for both killer and survivor to be able to go against each other.
My inspiration for this idea were celtic faes and sirens (evil mermaids) that lure you in with gifts/love/singing. I enjoy how a lot of killers take from real life lore and wanted to inject that into my concept.
Hopefully this idea is interesting and might get some traction :)
