A Challenge Preservation Guide [Tome 4 - Level 3 Challenges]
Introduction
Hello, again! This introduction will be a bit short since the other two entries already cover most of what has or needs to be said. But for those of you who're new, this is simply another entry into a limited series I've created that focuses on a specific "technique" that a lot of streamers use.
To keep things within a reasonable and understandable context, this "technique" focuses on preserving specific challenges in a level for use later on. This is primarily used for later use during a new DLCs release, which allows streamers and players to effectively day 1 prestige 3 a Killer or Survivor from that new DLC.
Each new DLC since the first rift has released around the end of that rifts life cycle, so hopefully anyone that comes across this post can find some use in it for the next DLC... Or just to read it for the sake of reading it. Either way, I hope you enjoy it regardless.
Also for context, each new DLC since the first tome has released around the end of the corresponding rift to that tome. This hasn't changed since the first rifts release, but could potentially change in the future.
A SHORT DISCLAIMER
Keep in-mind that I'm only human and that I might make a mistake that costs a few saved BPs on the way. That's why I encourage those who do take this example to go over it yourself just to be sure, if you want to that is. A full explanation will be provided below if needed.
[TOME 4] - LEVEL 3 CHALLENGES - 470,000 BLOOD-POINTS SAVED
This is a complete preservation route of Tome 4 - Level 2's challenges that was created by me and revised by @Fibijean for a quick and simple review. Like before, this route was one of various other routes that I went over by myself. As such, this is to ensure that the criteria for the best route is met before a revised version is created.
If you follow the routes specific guidelines than you'll be saving 470,000 blood-points as a result, which can be used elsewhere at your leisure.
HOW TO FOLLOW THE GUIDE
As you can see above, there are two color coded circles or "nodes" that're accompanied by two lines that connect to one another.
The red lines that connect to the blue nodes are explaining what challenges you're completing and claiming the rewards to, while the yellow lines show you which challenges are unlocked for completion. The yellow nodes indicate which challenges can be completed and preserved for later use.
ANYTHING NEW WITH THIS LEVEL?
Besides the usual increase to the BPs bonus that level 3 gets, which is 30k for normal nodes and 50k for the lore nodes, no. However, due to how this level is structured it should be noted that it was VERY straightforward in terms of the "master routes" creation.
To be more specific, despite countless routes being made for this specific level, only one stuck out time and time again because of how the level is structured. Usually when a level is made, different routes can be taken to possible maximize the BP output when preserving it. This usually happens because several nodes are not restricted behind what I like to call a "dead zone"
Now, "what's a dead zone" you might ask? Well, to be blunt, it's basically a node that's stuck in it's own space in a level. Usually referred to as a "dead end" since there's no other connections to that node besides the one the continues to the end point it's at.
The image above is an example to what a dead zone node looks like. A node that has no other connections to any other node to continue its path, effectively making it end at that very point. Now you might also ask "Why does this matter in a level?" Well, one of two of these isn't really a big deal per-say, but when you pair more than 2 in a single level LIKE this one, then the variety in routes become very... non-existent.
Now of course BHVR isn't creating levels for route makers like myself, but do take this as an example to what I mean by this levels lack in variety. Because more than 1 or 2 dead zones exist, it ruins a lot of options you have besides that's available through one route.
A dead zone node, at least in this case, can also be defined as a node that cannot be complete or preserved without the completion of another node. In this case with the first image, the regular node to the left has to be completed and claimed to preserve the lore node to the right for later use.
The same can be said for the second image below that one. The node in the middle cannot be preserved until one of the nodes on the left or right is completed and claimed. So as a result, when you have many of these in the same level, it limits it a lot. There are other dead zone nodes in this level as well, but these examples should give you an idea on how to identify them yourself.
AN IMPORTANT DRAWBACK TO THE GUIDE ITSELF
By following this guide you're cutting out a portion of the shards you would've received from these specifically preserved challenges. Now you might ask "what does this mean?" and to be blunt, it means your grind for each tier on The Rift will be slightly longer due to the loss of those shards when they're preserved.
This might not be an issue since a new DLC usually drops around the ending portion of each active Rift, if of course you're just using it for the new DLC. If it's for something else that's after that active Rift ends, than a lot more bonus games are required to make up for that shard loss.
Usually when completing every level for a new tome you're rewarded with around 30 to 34 tiers of shards. So around 300 to 340 shards are rewarded if every challenge is completed and claimed. When cutting around half of those challenges out of this equation, it looks to be more around 20 to 25 tiers or 200 to 250 shards depending on how many challenges are preserved. Usually when preserving challenges you're preserving the most challenges you can to actively claim later, so the amount of shards you get because of this may vary.
So to be more specific, if you're looking to follow this guide to use these challenges for anything outside of the active rifts life-cycle, than you're looking at a lot more work to put in to gain more shards that you lost because of the guide itself.
A player averages around 400 to 500 exp on a regular game, while 600 to 700 for a optimal game. The exp rates can change depending on the role, but the overall amount of games you will need to make up for those shards is a lot more as a result. 800 exp is required for 1 passive shard which the rift gives you when you meet this requirement, so do keep this in-mind if you go along with this guide but don't use any of the preserved rewards outside of that active rifts life-cycle.
AN EXPLANATION FOR NON-SELECTED, IN-PROGRESS, COMPLETED, OR PRESERVED CHALLENGES.
To start off, this is what a brand new challenge looks like when a new tome or level is introduced. Usually these are simply called "non-selected" or "unfinished" challenges. These in-complete challenges are also present in tomes or levels you have not completed prior.
This is what an in-progress challenge looks like, the bright blue light and shimmering effects that come off it indicate that the challenge is currently being worked on. A challenge will look like this when you select a blank or "non-selected" challenge that has no color to it.
This is what a preserved challenge looks like when you completed it but did not claim the rewards to it. This is what you're doing to the yellow nodes above to preserve their rewards. Once the "in-progress" challenge is completed, it'll change to this specific icon to reflect that the rewards are ready to be claimed.
Completed but unclaimed challenges also don't provide new routes to other challenges, so it's optional to take different routes to preserve certain challenges or complete specific challenges to gain access to others. When going over which nodes you want to preserve, you want to preview which routes to take to avoid losing more BPs than it's worth. Essentially speaking, each decision you make has an affect on other routes and challenges you could or could've preserved.
With all that being said, the example provided above is what I believe to be the most optimal route you could take for this level of Tome 4, so it's ultimately unnecessary to go over it even more.
This is what a completed challenge looks like, this means that the challenges rewards were claimed and the challenge itself changes to this color to reflect that. When a challenge is completed and the rewards are claimed, it provides new routes to other challenges that you can do. It's important to be aware of this when you're devising your own routes or following the example above.
conclusion
To end this level off I will be leaving this conclusion or "ending statement" for anyone to read if interested. Due to the results of the first and second entries I have decided to discontinue this series after the release of Tome 4 - Level 4.
For the 1 or 2 people that might as why, it's simply due to a lot of factors that I will quickly summarize. Lack of interest for the series by the public, lack of motivation for it because of that and time constraints I don't want to bother with as a whole. Basically, because of how both levels preformed before, I have lost some motivation to continue the series as a result.
Despite this, I will of course create these posts thoroughly before releasing them. I just don't want to continue the series because nobody found them interesting. So as a result, after level 4 is released I will be creating a universal guide that can be used as an example for any future tome that's released. It'll be a lot like level 1 in terms of structure, but it'll focus entirely on all of these entries contribution and examples within the post itself.
But as always I do hope you, the reader, enjoyed this guide. Hopefully you found some use in it, whether that's for the sake of knowledge or comparison with your own guides. I would like to thank @Fibijean again for her contribution to these guides, which of course wouldn't be possible without her help. Stay safe out there, see you in the fog...

If you both took different paths than never mind, but it's good for comparison for future levels. Either way, I'll leave this @ her if either of you're interested.

Thanks for the guide, great and useful as always! Sad to hear you will stop at the end. 😥
But a little bit late for me, because i started challenges as soon as they were released. 😀
But i found the same path, and you can even get a little 30k more if you save the last survivor's challenge before epilogue, because the dlc will probably be released before level 4, so you don't need to reach epilogue now, i guess.

Very well-done, bro. It's exactly the same path I went so far. It's sad to hear you won't continue this series, thank you bro!
@CashelP14 have you figured out any better path?

This is the most optimal path, mines was slightly less. It would've been 30k Bloodpoints less than this one. I sort of rushed mine because I was eating and didn't check it properly.
@bobcat946732 let me know of a more optimal path which is the same as this one.

Well technically yes, you could save an extra 30k that way.
But I didn't really include that into the post because a fully preserved guide, to me anyways, goes from the prologue and finishes on the epilogue. So technically you could preserve that node and use it when the new DLC releases, making it 470k, but I didn't bother doing that since you didn't TECHNICALLY "finish" the level.
The same can also be said for... basically every level you do, so it's hard to really say if level 2 or level 1s routes were also the "most optimal" since I didn't save the node before the epilogue. So, that's something i'll have to think about later on if I want to change it.
