Is it better to be toxic or stealthy?
I'm a console player and I always see survivors having many different play styles. Mostly toxic and/or stealthy. I always wonder if it's better to play toxic or stealthy and what are the pros and cons doing it.

Playing stealthy means less points but higher survival rate (not always the case).
Playing "boldly" or getting chased means more points and lower survival rate (not always the case).
Being Toxic I'd assume you mean playing to get chased while t-bagging and flashlight clicking? I don't think anyone should deliberately be toxic but there is a fine line with people who simply try to run distraction.

I don’t see why you should have to pic, between the two alone. But if you’re genuinely limiting yourself to the two options, I think not playing toxic is the obvious answer figuring it’s....toxic. Play stealthy, and don’t be a jerk to other players

It looks good on your part when you actually outplay the killer, i.e use stealth.

Stealth is the skillful way to play and the one less likely to result in a ######### game for everyone.

Play however you want as long as you gain points.
If you don't gain points because you hide for 30 minutes in a glitch = you're doing something wrong

Playing toxic might cause the killer to hold your hand, while you hang on the hook.
Just saying.5 -
Play however you want as long as you’re not a jerk. If you want to carry a flashlight and run around in the open and get chased, go ahead. Keep the teabagging to a minimum though, leave when the game is over and exit gates are open, and be a good sport and give the killer a “gg” whether or not he was able to catch you.
If you want to play stealthy, also don’t be a jerk. If you are hiding in a locker the whole game and don’t help your team at all, you’re worse than the teabaggers. Choose perks that let you know when someone is in a chase, like bond or empathy, so you know when you can safely do generators. If your teammates have all been hooked 1-2 times and you have never been hooked, it’s your turn to do the next save (unless the killer is camping).0 -
stealth = a nurses calling, bbq, bitter murmur
toxic = actually survivingStealth isnt a good option in this game

stealth = a nurses calling, bbq, bitter murmurNC - do not be stupid and heal near the killer
BBQ - really? I'v been playing stealthy versus a Doc with BBQ, done last 2 gens and escaped via hatch... Survivors claiming Stealth is not working are just unskilled.
Bitter Murmur - don't do gens lol. Jokes aside - same with BBQ. And when the killer is in chase Bitter Murmur is useless for him.toxic = actually surviving
If BM'ing, insulting, sandbagging etc. are the way to "survive", then I'm really sorry.
Stealth isnt a good option in this game
As to the @MoodyFoodie - play stealthy, you will be in the minority of skilled survivors in this game, and you will earn some respect from the killers. Remember, even if the killer finds you, there are big chances he will just let you escape, as the last person, because you were good, or at least do not camp, because you didn't act like a spoiled child.
PS. "NO STEALTH BUILDZ, NOT WURGINK IN DIS GAIM" - UE, DwM, Lithe, IW/SC - and you have a very strong juke/stealth build. It will just rekt the new killer.

Run bond for a few games and you will be insanely frustrated at seeing your team mates crouch walking and hiding in lockers across the map while you run the killer around.. Too much stealth accomplishes nothing3

If trying to buy your team time to complete the objectives is toxic, then god help this community
Apparently, if you run the killer around without shining that nice flashlight in his eyeballs/T-bagging at pallets, you are still toxic because you wasted his time, but it's okay13 -
You should play how you're more comfortable with, if you like stealth go for it, on the other hand, if you like more 'action' go and try to buy your team some times by distracting the killer, but be nice and don't T-bag at every pallet, that's if you don't want to get camped which you'll most likely will anyway

A warning against stealthy playstyles if your team goes down fast you might want to take the aggro of the killer if you want to escape. I meet many incompetent survivours who at rank 1 do not know how to use the killers red stain in a chase and end up getting downed fast. Be wary of killers who are smart and will drop chases they will look for better places to chase you or deal with you later after your team is dead. The best advice i can offer in this situation is too get good at gen rushing if the killers ignoring you.
Also toxic behaviour like t-bagging and clicking the flashlight easily alerts killers that your a bad idea to chase so if you want to aggro the killer stand in view of the killer but dont piss them off. Two reasons why. One you want to aggro the killer not aware him your a competent looper. Two if you continously piss of a killer they are more likely to facecamp you.
Go bold if your team needs it but work on all aspects of the game so you can get gens done fast if your team can handle the killer in a chase.0 -
Play whatever works best for you , but keep in mind that your style of play can and usually will effect the killers style . As a killer if the survivors are being toxic I will return the favor , as a survivor I act the same if the killer acts toxic I will return the favor . I have been known for letting the last survivor out the hatch if they play a fair game , have even went and knocked one down and carried them to the hatch because they wouldn't go near where I was standing . If the killer is guestering twards something and shaking their head up and down they are probably gonna let you leave because you played a good game reguardless of your skill .

i always learned to be toxic and 360 (even on console it is possible) and never really learned to be stealthy mostly because of killers having bad internet on console. i see it being more worth while in the long run but i would rather run to a gen halfway across the map and risk the chance of being caught then just urban immersion all the way their in a matter of days. if the killer has good internet i usually can just juke but its hard when a leather face is teleporting faster than the nurse chasing the person who broke her ruin right next to her.

What I learned when I was new to the game was the “toxic build” of Decisive Strike, Adrenaline, Sprint Burst, and Self Care which has been my main four perks on Meg for the longest time, it works for me. Although I don’t play like an ass and teabag at every pallet and flashlight click. Probably going to change DS for the new Deliverance perk when it releases.
Although on Claudette I can be a little bit more of a stealthy ninja since she is already very hard to find. Self Care, Iron Will, Calm Spirit, and Quick and Quiet work very well on her and you can hide in the most obvious of places.

I always saw 4 like main character types:
-The stealth bois
-The runner bois
-Both of the bois
-Toxic that does everything in his/her power to annoy the killer0
