The scariest part about Dead By Daylight is that it is technically eternal suffering.
Just think about it. Forget about killers or trials, they are not the thing that is the most insane and horrifying in DbD.
It is the eternal aspect of it. Time flows different in realm of the Entity, years, thousands of years can pass, while it is less than second outside. It's like a dream, where you experience entire life in a few seconds.
Nobody knows how much time has survivors spent inside. It could be billions of years, their minds could be older than the universe itself.
It's chilling even to try to imagine that amount of time they are stuck here, and they have technically been through all it. Tormented by all possible kinds of tortures Entity has brought inside. Forever.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD:
With the current tome chapter the first new Revelation went live
In it, the Observer gets the chance to see a realm in which survivors are living together quite... happily? He muses if this was an illusion, but if it is true, that might mean there's a chance survivors (maybe killers, too) can escape to a realm beyond the Entity's grasp, and maybe get home from there?

I still don't know if my thanatophobia or apeirophobia is worse, but both are definitely worse than my fear of suffering in general. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm still not sure how I feel about this.

I suppose in many alternative universes the Entity feasts on even that could supply it with what it needs.

Well, it doesn't matter how much you suffer as you just die and that's it. Not something pleasant, but it will have an end eventually. This, however, has no end, at least by measures of human life. They are going to spend so much time inside so that would feel like eternity to them.

The text says these survivors are living as if nothing was wrong. I'm just guessing, but this means one of two things, if it's not an illusion: The entity can't reach them there or the entity does not want to reach them there.

Useless fact and out of context but Apeirophobia in french could be translated by "the fear of drinking with friends" 🤣
