Pyramid Head Chase
Here's your two options when a Pyramid head plunges their knife into the ground as you approach a pallet/window:

Not really, if they do that don't drop it or vault and wait for the wave. Dodge the wave and then drop or vault. This only works if your ping is good though.

If you don't drop it, then they'll just M1 you instead since the cooldown to take your knife out of the ground is very low. Same thing with windows - if you vault, then you'll get hit mid-animation from the wave. If you don't, then you get the M1 treatment.

I think what OP's getting at is they will simply cancel and M1 you.

Canceling does take like half a second or something, so you can react and drop/vault. It normally works for me, if ping doesn't suck that is. Anyone with even remotely bad ping can deny that.

He's strong when you're within line of sight and going through something narrow. Dropping pallets early and making as much distance instead of looping at a pallet is key as he has no map pressure.

Doesn't work every time though. You need to be in range of his ranged attack for that scenario to happen.
When i play as him, some survivors are clever enough to maintain distance outside of my range attack, forcing me to use range attack in loops without them stuck in animation.
So i think this is the counterplay. Doesn't work every time, but it is a counterplay nevertheless

Or you smack him in the face with a pallet after you fake leaving the pallet like you can do against most other killers.. thats a valid option..

Just pick David and let him get into a arena with PH and brawl it out. Maybe even bring Ash after.

So I've learned that nobody here has played against a good pyramid head. A good PH is not gonna get into a situation where they miss an opportunity to hit or get stunned by a pallet. The only way you're not getting hit is if they mess up and for some reason don't press M2 at a loop, or they didn't know a pallet was there etc. Really well-designed killer that's so fun to play as....

either drop pallet early or abuse the backwards vacuum

Sorry but what is this post trying to achieve?

You drop the pallet early and you're getting hit by his ranged attack if the PH player is paying attention. He creates a lose-lose situation at every pallet and window unless he's bad and screws up.

Yeah, the counter to PH is holding W. It's effective, but boring and basic and honestly the counter to almost every killer.

I would agree with this if the range extending add ons didn't exist. Perhaps they are dodgeable. But in my experience even in sub-50 ms lobbies, if you aren't on the very edge of the projectile beam before the hitbox appears, you cannot possibly get clear in time.

You could hide you know? Just because you enjoy looping more then hiding doesnt mean the looping strategy is always the right one.

They should rework the ability to only damage at the tail end of the attack. Everything in between should inflict Torment.

thats a massive nerf that he doesnt deserve, the power is alrady easy enough to dodge to make it harder for the killer.

He can hook people instantly then Mori them. It's already kitted out. And there's a few add-ons that would benefit from having a dependable way of Tormenting people because it's so piss easy to avoid already like you said.

Range add-ons are good, but there's a downside. The range attack needs extra time to travel that far. So if you have enough distance, you can actually fake the pallet or window because he needs to time it faster.
If he only inputs the attack once you're start vaulting, the attack won't reach in time.
Also, running in straight line in open field is a good counter to him.
