Survivor Powers

I’ve been thinking a bit about why there are so many viable killer perks compared to survivor perks, and I was thinking it could help them to give each survivor a small ability that would hopefully work with certain perks.

One idea I thought of that may be too strong was giving a survivor the ability to passively raise stacks on their perks over x amount of time (would have to be tested a lot for balance if this ever became a thing) This would make perks like Autodidact more consistent, or let you use Distortion additional times.

Another idea I had was a survivor that did certain actions faster when effected by the Broken status effect which would give some additional power to perks like No Mither or For the People.

Just a something I thought I would throw out here and see what people think about it.

I've heard that they don't want to give survivors special abilities because it would create a survivor meta. Right now, players get to pick their survivor based on aesthetics and who they like, but if they had abilities, it would become a situation of often seeing the same two or three survivors due to them being meta picks.

It'd be hard to implement, because killers already have 4 perks vs 16. So their power is meant to account for roughly 12 perks. Then you have to consider it might make one particular survivor more powerful than the others. That's a lot to consider for balance.

It'd be cool if each survivor had one of their teachables at base. But you'd have some survivors who just have very little (Ash, Steve) while others would have a lot (Dwight, Meg)

Everyone will just use the op survivor. We already see this with people using p3 or brown clothes claudette. The same can be said about female survs vs male survs as they are smaller and easier to hide.
