Now that the MMR is turned off, why is the killer lock still on?

    Because the killer lock is client side and would need a patch to remove. The MMR is server side and can be switched on and off without a patch. It will be interesting to see if the next patch removed the killer lock, as that would suggest that they devs have given up on it.

    Peanits said in his stream that the ability to switch killers while in the lobby will likely not come back. They still plan to switch to MMR matchmaking once they work out the problems they ran into, and each killer had/will have their own MMR rating. I’d imagine they don’t see a reason to change it back temporarily.

    Or they just leave the killer lock on and call it a feature.
