Just Do Bones: The Musical
Just do bones! I don't see the problem, if you don't do totems you're just being a lazy entitled survivor main.
These are all from the last week, by the way. Every time I've run into NOED it's been in one of these kinds of builds.
Sarcasm aside, could someone give me tips on how to find the time to "just do bones" on a map like Lery's when I'm a solo survivor against an ebony mori and/or face camping killer? Thanks.

Sounds like you have more of a problem with moris and iri heads more than anything. Both of which devs have stated they are looking at. Huntress is likely up next for an addon rework and devs are looking at moris and keys.
Also for those "builds" Other than the top one, the killer is using level 1 and 2 perks. It likely means that that are leveling that killer and don't have many good perks to choose from. NOED is good at all ranks and can generally be put on any killer, whereas other perks are highly killer dependent. When i was leveling a new killer i would often throw noed on because i had no other good perks to choose from.
Also notice how the first 2 didn't even break 15k bloodpoints. Hell the first didn't even break 10k. When it comes to emblems and BPs, killers are heavily punished for using a mori.
Also.
JUST.
DO.
BONES.

Do you have an answer to my question?
How can I find time to do bones against a face camper, or an Iri Head Huntress, or a mori?
3 -
Against a face camper, leave one survivor to die and do all 5 bones and 3 gens in the time being.
0 -
Deathbound on legion is really, really bad. I tried it because I thought it would be amazing because they are healing all the time but I discovered oblivious survivors don't get revealed by the killer instinct.
0 -
Do 5 totems and 3 gens in 120 seconds? I'm not sure that's realistic unless you're running in a 4 man SWF and know the map inside out, which I'm not.
0 -
With mori in play just rush gens, you don't have enough time to cleanse every or most totems in the match.
0 -
It just looks like that guy's leveling up legion and that's what ever perks he had acquired lol
0 -
Yes, I agree. Making "just do bones" an overly simplistic and unrealistic suggestion in many cases. :)
2 -
Wow, really? I didn't know that about Oblivious, good to know.

Against a facecamper you ignore the bones and do the gens. Now the killer gets 1k, but the 3 of you escape.
Iri head huntress is easily beatable, most of them are bad, but remember it limits her hatchets and she is going to really go for those hatchets to the point of ignore m1 most of the game. Use that to your advantage.
Mori is rough but is able to be dealt with. But you need to stop relying on all of your second chance perks. When someone gets hooked, that person should hide/do gens while a different person trys to get the killers attention. Do that correctly a couple of times and you got the gens done. Look at keys, killers deal with those all the time, a mori is just the killer equivalent of a key.
1 -
Yeah, I hate that. I do totems when I can but I get a lot of braindead teammates so I can never waste time doing totems while they're exchanging hooks back and forth.
1 -
First three? Yeah, you're not getting out of those games barring them being terrible. You've got no chance at that point unless you bring a key and an SWF with BNP's to get the gens done quick.
Last one though, pretty reasonable. Brought a cake, probably doing a Huntress challenge or something. Didn't even bring an infantry belt. You really want bad, you go up against a Huntress with Ebony Mori, Iri Hatchet, Infantry Belt, NoED, and does it really matter what else she brings after that? Oh and did I mention she camped.
I did finally beat an Iri Hatchet Huntress the other day, though. With infantry belt and an Ivory Mori. Actually didn't realize she had an Iri Hatchet until I got hit with it.

The Mori doesn't do anything if you're not constantly getting caught, and the Iri Head doesn't do anything if you're not constantly getting caught. The best way to do bones is stealthy and with perks like small game. Hell, I would bring small game just on the off chance you end up with a hag or trapper. The perk is never not useful, and theres alternative perks that do the same thing like detectives hunch etc. Get stealthy, and do bones.

Solo sucks, thats true. You better uninstall than play solo dbd. xD
1 -
I tend to prioritise bones meself. Small game is a godsend for a solo queuer but it could really do with a totem counter token system. The only time "do bones" has no strength is against an actually good killer who can end chases quickly. At that point you really don't have a choice but to try and do all the gens and play around it.
Thankfully good killers rarely use NOED outside of niche endgame builds so its not a big issue.
0 -
"Just don't get caught" may be even more useless advice than "just do bones", I'm not gonna lie.
2 -
"But you need to stop relying on all of your second chance perks"? Where did I mention what perks I was running?
0 -
The problem is, against a killer with a mori, even if they're not great they can usually mori the first guy off hook and then the gens slow down massively. Cutting the survivor team down by 1/4 is not an insignificant hurdle, which is why so many NOED users also run moris.
0 -
That's two depipps, a brutal, and maybe a ruthless. The vast majority of those were losses in every way that matters. So who exactly cares if they were running noed?
1 -
Are there really people who care about whether the other side pips or not?
1 -
True but moris tend to skew the balance of the game completely anyway. I don't use them outside of challenges myself. Same with keys and (I dont know what they're called now that they arent instaheals) instaheals.

God I wish I could get into games with you guys who can't find bones. I really like Huntress' Lullaby even though it's considered very weak, getting 5 stacks and hearing constant explosions is hilarious to me. But I'd say in about 90% of games it'll be cleansed instantly, along with anything I use to defend or stall it, like Thrill of the Hunt, which means I can waste two perk slots often accomplishing basically nothing. I'm not even looking forward to Undying that much with my precious Lullaby because you lose all your tokens, instead of just like half or something.
Of course, NOED is a little different since it goes to a dull totem, but still, I see cleansed dull bones every match as well. I'd love to be able to run "bad" Hexes like Lullaby a little more safely without feeling like an idiot for bringing it. Would actually love if some of them like Lullaby would just get an extra token for every remaining totem not being used by a different Perk, and would get weaker with each cleanse, rather than building up power over the match. At least that way it'd last a bit longer and get some good initial early game delay that could still be countered by people just hitting their skillchecks.
I realize this is all me just complaining about wanting to use a bad Hex, but it's sooo fun when it works!

Do bones

Huntress would be great if it didn't give a notification until the first token to get the ball rolling. I get why, its because of the bonus regression thats always active but its really not a good risk reward power VS say, Devour or noed.

When you play survivor, it's not a 1v1, it's a 1v4, so if the collective wins, you win, even if you die. That's what so many people dont understand about this game.
1 -
I don't really see the issue with Legion besides the fact he had NOED, Every time I or my team gets wiped because of NOED, I get mad at myself or others for not doing bones. Especially when the team wanted to Gen Rush. it's not complicated, quit being lazy.
And bashing Killers for running NOED in EGC/Forums gets you no where because people can play how they want to. Regardless of what perk, add-on/offering, or Killer they choose.
1 -
But whether the killer pips or depips or safety pips has nothing to do with any of that.
0 -
The Legion brought a green mori and tunnelled the first person off hook. Doing gens and all totems in a 3v1, which is skewed massively in the killer's favour, is not realistic.
I'd also like you to point out where I bashed anyone or said people can't run NOED.
0 -
I don't see the issue with a green Mori. If you want to complain about his playstyle, by all means. But it's a green mori. It's not that bad and you can still pull through and win. I've seen it happen and I've made it happen.
0 -
You really don't see an issue with a build that allows the killer to delete one survivor and then add an extra generator's worth of time (at least) to the survivors' objective? Really?
I'm talking about the stupid "jUsT dO bOnEs" meme that people think is actual advice. I don't have a problem with NOED in its concept, my problem with it is when it goes hand-in-hand with stupid ######### like moris, face camping with Bitter Murmur or insta down add ons. I thought my issue was pretty clear from the title, my first post and the fact that all of the builds I posted contained the aforementioned.

You should not do bones at all. Just do gens as fast as possbile and if it is noed, open the exit gate and leave. Dont feed into noed, dont try to be alturistic, just leave the trial. Let him have his 1K.
2 -
No I don't because the game isn't suddenly forfeit because you lost 1 Survivor early in the game. Hell things are done correctly, by the time the first Survivor goes down, a Min. of 1 gen, Max 3 gens if you're super coordinated are done. Dude get's unhooked and let's say a Killer immediately tunnels him off the hook and Moris him. If you didn't pop that 2nd or 3rd Gen yet, you should've by then. It's not complicated. Is it easy? Hell no. But it's still possible if you and your team play smart. It's a green Mori can be used at any time on only 1 Survivor. I've only ever used it twice in my lifetime and both times were used on a player who was a God at looping so I ended them quickly.

Do bones

Exactly. Though I used to do bones, but sometimes you can only find three or four on some maps and, if the killer has NOED and just remains that sneaky totem that nobody can't find, there's no much you can do. What I do is I try to remember the totems I see and look for them at the end if NOED.
1 -
gotta say, I was really hoping to read some parody lyrics here
0 -
Just saying, it's mainly a meme to say to do bones.
NOED will get the killer literally 1 hook if the survivors play safe. Possibly a kill. If you even did get to end game with them builds, it really wouldn't of had that much of an effect unless you messed up.
More importantly you can memorise the totem locations and do a sweep at endgame if NOED really bothers you that much.

If I were more creative (or musical) I'd totally make some, but alas, I just wanted a non-whiny, catchy title. :(

Pips and bloodpoints are the win condition in this game. If a killer 4ks, but gets 8k points and a depip, he lost. If he gets 30k points, ruthless, and a 1k, he won.
0 -
This "just to bones" is just a phrase, nothing more. They heard the term "bones" at some unfunny animation, so they use it. And parrot it.
Just accept that NOED is a thing and that it requires you to waste time searching Totems instead of being productive. Oh, and if you dont get all 5, your time is 100% wasted. This all for a Perk the Killer might not even have.
"But you get BPs!"...Yeah, Boldness, which is the easiest Category to fill up.
"But they count for Emblems!"... So do Gens, which are actually important to do.
Oh, and dont worry, you are sitll required to do all the Totems, despite the Killer bringing a Mori which basically means "be as efficient as possible to survive".
Nah, sorry, but you wont get anything with your Thread on this Forum. We can just hope that they change NOED at some point and remove the Hex-Status so that this waste of time is gone (like, try to get 5 Totems as Solo Survivor on Midwich, Hawkins or Lerys...ugh).
EDIT: The worst thing is that NOED basically is a guaranteed 2K for a camping Killer... "Just rush Gens when the Killer is Camping". Aaaand NOED.

I'm using the royal "you" and i'm generally talking about DS/UB

Yes but what you’re saying makes no sense in the context of this post. You’re talking about the killer’s win condition like it has any meaning to the survivors. I have no way to know whether the killer pips or not, it’s entirely separate from whether or not the survivors pip and honestly nobody gives a ######### about pips after about 500 hours unless you’re Tru3talent.
Besides which, if a killer depips and gets ######### for points but kills all 4 survivors, they all depipped and got ######### for points as well. That kind of match means that the survivors also lose. So why are you saying “well the killer depipped” like that means the survivors won? The survivors all died and depipped so they ALSO lost by any possible metric of success. So how is a game in which everybody playing it loses healthy or fun?

Now you're getting the bhvr logic. No one wins.
