Cross Platform Communication

Are there plans to allow talking/audio between platforms?

I'm new to Dead By Daylight - I've been playing it on Xbox for about a month, oftentimes with a friend who also has the game on his Xbox. We both have headsets and are able to talk and play at the same time. For the first time tonight, our friend bought the game for his PC and joined us for a session, but we were disappointed that audio does not work for him on his PC.

Reading a few posts, it would seem the DBD community overall does not care for cross platform communication, with most naysayers arguing it's too much of an advantage for Survivors. But then why allow communication at all? Conceivably, the three of us could all play and talk on Xbox or PC if we all had the same platform and I'm sure many people already enjoy the game this way.

Why limit players in such a way?

audio is not intended for dbd. you are using a third party to talk to your friend. on pc we use discord.
