Can the hatch spawn on second floors?
I initially assumed the hatch couldn't spawn on higher levels of a map and only the ground level, because where would the hatch be leading to if it were on a second floor, with a room below it? But then I remembered, that this is The Entity's realm and nothing has to make sense here. However, I recently realized I have never once seen the hatch spawn on the second floor of The Game or Midwich Elementary school, or in the higher levels of any of the buildings on other maps.
So, can the hatch appear on higher levels of the map? Or is searching the higher levels a complete waste of time?

Hatch cannnot spawn on any 2nd floors BUT it can spawn on staircases. I've seen it spawn at the halfway point of the stairs on Midwich.
Also it can spawn on a "second floor" if there is no first floor. For example, it can spawn at the top of Sanctum very rarely, which is technically a second floor but there is no first floor beneath it so it's not quite the same.

I'm not sure why, but it makes easier for the last survivor to look for de hatch

I believe the hatch does not spawn on the second floor. Only on the bottom floor.

It spawns on the first floor. BUT, during the PTB (and maybe shortly after release) I've seen the hatch spawn on the platform on the stairs in Midwich (between 1st and 2nd floor). I don't think I've seen it spawn there recently, though.

I've seen it spawn halfway up the stairs on Midwich, but never on the second floor.

Also, it can spawn on the upper part of the Sanctum of Wrath.

Hatch usually only spawns downstairs, I think. It also doesn’t make sense when hatch spawns in killer shack but basement there.
