How would you buff soloq?
A common issue that arises while discussing balance is the tremendous difference in tools given to SWF compared to solo. A suggested solution that seems to be quite common is to buff solo Survivors closer to the power level of SWF to make changes to Killers more applicable across the board.
I´m curious, what are your suggested buffs to soloq?

Buffing information and nerfing meta perks.

- The aura reading of Kindred (not the killer reveal, but the survivor reveals) should be basekit.
- Survivors should have a totem counter on their HUD, like the generator counter.
- Teammates' loadouts should be shown to the survivors before the match begins
Not perfect but 3 suggestions that'd make solo-q life actually enjoyable.
Then, naturally, we'd superbuff killers.

Built in voice chat.
Obviously can have issues, but it's mutable if the people are annoying or you don't wanna talk.

I wouldn't buff anything, people need to stop being selfish and start playing as a team, that's it

Honestly yeah this would close the gap very well.

Good luck with that. Even in Overwatch, a blatant team vs team game where team composition, synergy, and working together is vital, people play like it's CoD and rarely as a team. Hell, you can't get even a mere three random people to work together as a squad in Apex.

I wouldn't. It is too complex a system to ever reach an equitable balance. The two ques have to be separated. That way the SWF que can have its 5th Perk (Comms) balanced by requiring them an extra generator to power the gates, and/or a 5th Perk unlocked for the Killer. This problem will NEVER be fixed by power creep. Increasing the Solos to try and make them as strong as the already overpowered SWF is the opposite of a solution.

add to the UI, indicators for healing, being chased, doing a gen etc, everything SWF can know of in 3 words

The only problem is that I feel teammates will betray the ones without a mic
I was playing black ops 4 zombies one time and a guy literally was trying to get me killed because I wouldnt turn my mic on , maybe it will be a better experience with this game though? I agree on the sense they should have the same capability as a swf but this game has so many toxic players in it, I could only imagine some kid cussing me because I won't go to the basement and save him from a noed face camper

If you want to buff solo then a filter for terrible players would do the trick. Solo only feels hopeless because of your selfish teammates.

They could do that regardless.
You think you'll die more from a teammate being angry you won't turn your mic on or from not being able to tell your team the killer left the hook and that they're safe for the save?
9/10 it's gonna be more of a benefit to have the mic

This is true, they should add it to a ptb and see what kind of results come from it
1 -
I wish they'd throw more things into the PTB to test them out. Even if it's not gonna come to live after the PTB, they should use it as a testing ground to try new things out.

Yes I don't feel like they utilize that function enough, there are so many excellent ideas that go unnoticed

Allowing survivors to always see the aura of every other survivor at all times. Make kindred base kit. Rework every aura perk.

In my opinion, it would be proximity and if your voice goes too loud, the killer gets a loud noise notification. The other part of it could go one of two ways. The killer has a distortion over your mics so they can't hear what you say, or the killer can hear what you say and speak back. Another cool feature if it goes the 1st route would be if the closer the killer got, the more distorted mics would become.

Free Kindred would prevent at least 75% of boring games where nobody is doing generators, everyone is coming to hook and handing killer free 3k.

I'd say this is a lot better than most of the other suggestions I've seen. Too often the ideas are too overpowered and/or ruin the immersion like free kindred.

How about something like a proximity dialogue wheel? No mics, but at least then you could communicate a bit with other survivors.

Realistically, make a basekit HUD totem counter, make hud status effects for actions; being chased, healing/being healed, doing a generator, cleansing a totem etc.
I would also personally add voice chat because the closest you can get towards SWF, the best you can balance around this, but I don't think that's ever a possibility of happening

Buff and re-buff survivor perks, undo some survivor nerfs. Nerf some killer perks. Fix a few of the broken killers. If killers lose to a few SWF, so be it.

i dont think the issue is information but just having bad teammates in general you know? i think its just matchmaking
whenever i do play survivor now i just play with 2 friends without comms just so i know i have sentient players on my team instead of the rank 6 nea urban evading in the corner of the map

Neat, I like those!
Except maybe the shown loadouts, bit too much imo. After all there´s the period before the start of the match with the oppurtunity to call out BT or the likes to the other Survivors.

Nah meta perks would have been needed to be nerf'd on both sideds

SWF don't need information perks. So they can replace them with meta ones. Solos will have to sacrifice perk slots to be on par with SWF.

I agree with you. If we buff solos the game will lose it’s essence. If you put together 4 good solo players they can still beat the killer easily.

Yeah just not on console and with cross-play enabled you won't always be able to tell people
