Tips for solo build

Hey all,

I’m a mid purple rank survivor, trying to get up in the rankings. Only problem is I prefer to play solo. Any suggestions for an optimal build to go with? This is my current setup:

-Kindred

-DH

-Inner Strength

-DS (as a tunnel safeguard)

If anyone has any suggestions, I’d really appreciate it.

Actually that's a pretty solid setup. If you feel like getting a warning the killer is heading towards you, id swap out IS for Spine Chill. Slap on a medkit for when your injured or try to find someone to heal you.

That's a solid build. Not much to critique, whatever works for you works for you. It seems like it might be counterproductive to run Inner Strength and DH, since a lot of killers have instadowns and you might end up choosing to activate one or the other a lot of the time, but it's just personal preference.

If you want to hate your teammates more than you ever thought possible, run a few games with Bond/Kindred/Open Handed. You can see pretty much everything they do, and much of what the killer does, since Open Handed effectively doubles the reading area of those two perks. A few games with this combo will give you a good game sense even when you're not running it.

Also, never overlook the perk Alert for solo que. It can be almost as good as Kindred.

I use Borrowed/Soul Guard/Botany Knowledge/Self Care when I'm trying to rank up. It lets me play a tank build. It's not a sit on gens build though so you'll be tanking hits for injured survivors in chase so they don't go down quickly. You can swap out Borrowed Time for Tenacity if you're absolutely sure you know how to do safe rescues without the killer sniffing your booty.

This is mine, not for comparison but just since I'm in the same boat. I hate not having too much info in solo.

Decisive Strike and Kindred are the must haves for playing Solo because you can't trust 3 randoms every single match.

Then the other two perks are honestly whatever you want, I usually dedicate one for an Exhaustion Perk then the last slot is whatever I want.

Don't be afraid to mix it up though. Literally any perk is fine. Goof off. Mess around.

Mine is Kindred, DH, Borrowed Time, Resilience and bring a med pack. Kindred for info, DH for exhaustion, Borrowed Time for camping killers and Resilience because sometimes you’ll have to rely on yourself to push gens. When healing 99 yourself so you can benefit Resilience more. When the killer comes either loop him or heal yourself.

Alternatively, you can run Soul Guard, Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, and Deliverance. It's a bit of a meme build, but it basically lets you GTFO at the end of the match without the Killer being able to do anything about it. As long as you take someone off of hook, you can yeet off a hook and run for the gate. If they slug you down, use Ubreakable to get back up. Soul Guard will make sure they can't down you again after you do this. If they pick you up, DS and run for it.

I don't do any of that.

My personal solo build is Balanced Landing, Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, and Adrenaline. I like having access to both Exhaustion Perks so I can pick and choose which one is right for a situation. BT lets me go for some riskier unhooks and make sure the Survivor I'm helping gets a good head start. Adrenaline is, well, Adrenaline. If I'm not super into one of the Exhaustion Perks, I will swap out the one I don't mind parting with (normally BL) with Kindred so my teammates can make informed decisions.

Edit: Deja Vu can be a good swap in Perk as well. While it's not always hard to find Generators, especially on outdoor maps, it can come in handy for some indoor maps. Furthermore, it let's you look at where the gens are quickly and try to avoid giving the Killer a solid 3 Gen defense.

my usual solo build was (because i dont play solo anymore)

Dead hard (now i prefer Esprint tho)

    Decisive

Spinechill to have extra info early game since im not playing with friends to tell me who the killers is and where he is.

Unbrekable, to have something more on my sleeve,. usually killers against solos dont expect it at all, also is the small pp build is actually very good, you could run aswell Kindred wich is very good or Deliverance since you cant rely on teamamtes so you unhook yourself.

Red ranks are overrated btw. Don't overthink it. Just hit them with everything you've got, then do it again.
