Why is Pyramid Head often referred to as "unfun"?

Yeah it's more of an option select. Both options result in you getting hit.

Apparently a killer shouldn't require interactivity to be fun. We're all just whiners.
Personally, I don't use his power for zoning all that much, instead preferring to go for cheeky, and often very effective, shots through walls. And in those circumstances he actually feels quite fair: the survivors (if they're paying attention) can dodge, and I can misjudge or striaght up miss. But then you get to a window or pallet and the survivor is animation locked into taking a hit, or they keep running and take a hit.

its not fun being “mindgamed” simply because he started using his power, mindgames should require real effort and not “hold m2 and wait for the survivors to do something”
also, he forces survivors into lose-lose situations without having to read the survivors at all

1000000% agree

I like that, bc it lets me pull off mindgames that otherwise wouldn't be possible

Unfortunately you can't control Torment. The Rites of Judgement can sometimes appear invisible so you're struck by it randomly at times. Otherwise I totally agree with your post.

They're right though. I play Pyramid Head myself but it's dumb to say that him putting his sword in the ground is a mind game. You either keep looping the pallet and he cancels and gets the hit or you throw it down and he hits you while you're in animation lock with his M2. Mind game implies that you confused your opponent when this is just a hit either way unless the Pyramid Head misses. I agree one thing a survivor can do is run past the pallet and then quickly turn around and throw it down but an experienced PH respects until they're 100 percent sure that the survivor will keep running the tile. That's like calling Deathslinger spamming his ADS to gain distance a mind game. If you try to dodge, you get m1'nd, if you keep running straight, he gets a point blank shot. Not a mind game.

Depends on the definition of mind game. My definition: Using an m1 or ability in an attempt to make your target do something they wouldn't normally do without being specifically implemented by the game. There really isn't 1 definitive definition to my knowledge.

Bc hes stupid? Even if you "mind game" a pallet or vault hell just m1 you instead of using his power. How stupid and braindead is that? If you cant run tiles as killer just hit through them all with PH!

Hes not anti loop he completely kills loops. You know, the only thing survivors have against killers? Learn to run tiles and run loops as killers instead of encouraging powers that totally break the mechanic.

Do people really call him unfun?
What about him makes him "unfun"? He isn't like original Legion, with no counterplay, or Slowdown Freddy, where the game goes on forever. I can't really think of any other way he could be unfun.

The outcome of a chase with Pee Head is determined almost entirely by the killer's skill, not a balance between both parties.

Yeah don't know how people defend this 'hE cAnNoT bE lOoPeD = uNfUn' - no #########. Gens are boring, healing is boring, the fun part of the game is the chase, if you are against a guy with no counterplay who has 100% guaranteed hits on you unless he ######### up, how on earth is that fun???
It's nothing to do with his strength, I love going vs Nurse, Billy, Huntress who are good killers, it's the fact if he plays optimally (which if you somehow don't know, albeit the responses to this thread make me think most people don't know, you just always M2 cancel until you have a 100% hit, if they throw the pallet/vault they are hit, if they fake it you cancel and insta M1 with zero cooldown between your switch) - and you can't even pallet stun him in m2 either if he is smart, because it's a queued action, meaning aslong as you tap m1 to release the attack before you are stunned, the m2 will happen anyway even when you get stunned.

how can this be exploited? His power is reactive, you just fake and then react to a locked anim, if you have a decent reaction time there's no counterplay

"learn to run tiles" what is that non sense?. imagine trying to catch a decent survivor with a normal killer, most pallets you cant mindgame them unless survivors are a group of potatoes. he is fine since he can deal with all the non sense survivors use and have.
