Hex: Undying is low key a nerf to noed
survivors will be cleansing totems like crazy with undying in the game, which will make them better at knowing where totems spawn. Thus noed is less likely to get any value, or even activate.

Absolutely. It is a natural consequence of Undying being combined with other potent Hexes, like say "Ruin." Totems will need to be cleansed to get generators running, and thus, dull Totems will no longer be ignored. The chances that Noed will never activate are substantial against a good team of Survivors.

If there are doing bones they not doing generator's so use that time to go apply pressure.

Of course, it is generally newer Killers that rely on NOED, so chances are newer Survivors won't all have Undying+Ruin (or whatever) right away. For the newbies, things will change very little. NOED doesn't get near as much play anyway once Killers start to improve in Rank.

I guess 14 seconds isn't that long after all.

That's not what a nerf is lol

Inner Strength ought to have been the incentive to do bones.
0 -
True but it is an indirect consequence that does factor into whether the Perk ever activates. It is easier to call ti a Nerf, but you are right it would be more correct to call it a new "Liability" or a "Risk Factor."

Is there a notification to survivors that undying is in play?
0 -
I mean while its a nerf to noed in a sense its a huge buff to haunted grounds and i mean huge.
0 -
no, but if you have ruin, and they hear a hex totem break, but the ruin notification doesnt go away, then they kinda just know.
0 -
Hmmm.... no.
I've been playing Undying/Ruin a lot (I still don't have a lot of perks for Blight, so I'm using what I've got) And what I've seen so far is that even when survivors bring maps my Ruin has stayed up all game in 14/15 matches. I often get matches where the survivors break my Ruin totem 2-3 times but never find Undying. The only match where they got both totems early was one of the matches where they brought a rainbow map.
1 -
No there is not, but it's not hard to figure out. You get a notification when Ruin is up, so if you cleanse a totem and the Ruin icon stays you've either cleansed an unrelated totem or Ruin got transferred.

In that case they will know, but survivors are pretty lazy about doing bones if they don't have to. If you just run undying and NOED I wouldn't be surprised if they have to cleanse both totems at the end.

I had a lot of fun with this build. Hex: Undying, Hex: Haunted Grounds, Hex: Noed, perk of your choice. In my case I was running stridor because I was playing spirit. Hex Undying provides auras, Haunted Grounds tend to be activated between 2 and 3 times and usually by end game there is 1 unlit totem that will never be found.
This strat can be countered if survivors only go for unlit totems or they break unlit totems first. This isn't common knowledge yet and it's been way too good so far.

Wait, do Haunted Grounds and Undying work together? Someone tried this out in the PTB and said that HG doesn't activate if it gets transferred to a new totem.
0 -
Every time I use this skill they break all my totems at the same time...
Let's say it's useful to save time but that's all, so I might as well take another perk.🤣

i wish it was but its a perk that gets worse as more people use it, locked behind a £10 DLC.
1 -
Yes, it will proc several times
0 -
Well that's awesome. I'll have to try that.

I'd call it a buff to killers overall. Noed was always kind of a weird perk that didnt have a place in experienced players builds outside of endgame builds.
Survivors now have a forced secondary objective if the killer is good at pressuring gens. Shoudl make the next few months interesting.

Variably Agree on that.
Hence the Ought to Been.
There's times I run Inner Strength and only 1 full totem through the course of the trial. It's a somewhat double edge sword when more than one, if not a determined survivor, does bones thoroughly. The situational moments the turn favors are like juggling while playing musical chairs.

Sigh... he's not a licenced killer, so you don't actually need to pay anything if you don't want to support the devs. Just buy him with shards.
Oh, wait, you're talking about Nancy. My bad.
Fair enough, I guess. IMO Inner Strength isn't even that good a perk. People who love it, love it. I got no beef with them, but you don't NEED it to play well.

I think now I'll just run detective's hunch all the time. This renegade hex business sounds messy.
1 -
i mean, i think this is the first killer ill have to buy with shards. not bc i dont wanna support the devs but uh...
yeah.

I don't think undying is such a high issue. Who runs ruin? Low mobility / pressure killer do not really benefit from ruin, where high pressure killers are much stronger now. It's better to combine it with devour on low pressure.
0 -
I run it in pretty much every game. I know many Killers that do.

They'll stop cleansing, they always stop.
Also, you want them to adapt and cleanse totems, it'll stop them from complaining about NOED.
It's like complaining that the killer is slugging when you have DS. You want them to adapt.

When I was first learning blight, I had undying and noed on. I kept pressure for a bit but they soon gen rushed me. I got one down and camped for at least a 1k but my luck changed. I downed the guy with noed, so they went looking for the totem. They found it but didn't know I had undying, or didn't expect it, so after they broke it, all 3 of them rushed in for the save. Let's just say my 1k turned into a 4k.
