Never Stop Slashing and Legendary Skins
I am saddened at what could've been for NSS (Never Stop Slashing) and at the 'legendary' cosmetic sets that we've been given. What has been the point in even trying? Legendary skins cost $15 but they don't offer anything new that we've already gotten to the table. No new animations, voices, nothing. I know 'technical limitations' is an easy answer for it, but has there even been any attempt at trying? Legion is a clear example that BHVR has the ability to change the voice of a character based on their skin, so what's the deal? Why have people spend $15 for a set they can not mix or match with nothing interesting? One thing that made NSS stand out above all the other cosmetics submitted by the community was the animations that the mask had. It's just so...Disheartening to see that they couldn't follow through with Amacky's (the creator of NSS) design. Even he expressed that he wasn't fully happy with the final product. Frank's mask in this skin is now literally just a recolor of the original!
It's just very sad to see that we can't be given something new to the game that could be interesting to see.

Even he expressed that he wasn't fully happy with the final product.
Is there a source to that?

Yeah, his Twitter.

You can check out his Twitter, which @Demogordon_Ramsay posted. He discussed it awhile back when the skin was revealed.

I think the legion skin render looks great. But yes I agree, legendary sets need their own voices and at least change the name of the character while equipped.
They definitely seem a bit half assed especially the Cybil Bennett legendary skin coming for Cheryl. Cybil’s face is an abomination.

I don't understand why they charge 15 dollars for that Oni skin and don't even change his club. Not changing the voices is super lame since they're charging so much but I can at least kind of understand. There's no excuse for not changing Oni's club though

Dissapointing that legion NSS is not complete, speaking about disappoitments
Cybil Bennet Legendary skin is going to be so disappointing, another Cheryl clone with the same voice but wait, she is going to have "Lobby unique animations" that the majority doesn't care about, also, what happened with this new silent hill characters? their faces look dead inside, likeness problems probably with Konami

On another note:
Please stop downgrading skins that have been in the shop for longer than 3 months. Once they're released, please don't change the colors or how the hair looks. Jeff's white facepaint cosmetic just looks awful now and the Day of the Dead skins for the Legion don't glow in the dark anymore. Stop screwing your community over.

With the price of a legendary skin I can buy the last two DLCs, this doesn’t make any sense

Legendary skins all in all are extremely underwhelming, and the community as a whole is starting to catch wind of this repeatedly calling out the fact. (Currently we only have two skins that count as legendary but what we've seen so far isn't very encouraging)
With no new animations (IE for killer different Idle animations, different weapon wipe animation, etc.), no new voices, no visual changes to killer's power or ability (IE Changing The Oni's weapon from a Japanese Kanabo to something that makes more sense for a Greek Minotaur [like a Labrys], or even just small changes like changing the killer power icon. Why is it still the Japanese Oni mask when you're playing as a Greek Minotaur instead?), etc. so on and so forth.
Aside from the fantasy of "being a different character" and the rarity, there is no significant difference between the very rare skins DBD has been releasing for the past four years, and the "legendary" skins that they're suddenly asking 15$ for. As I've said before, "it seems DBD is more intent on selling us the idea of legendary skins rather than actually skins of a legendary quality" as again, these skins could only ever be called "legendary" in name and title.
As for the legion skin itself specifically, I don't believe there are technical limitations, I mean the mask is supposed to change depending on a condition that is being met. For example whenever he enters feral frenzy, or is fatigued, or every time he's hit by a pallet. There are perks that exist that activate when you've been hit by a pallet- Spirit Fury most obviously gains a token every time you're hit by a pallet, if you're hit with enough pallets the pallet is destroyed immediately by the entity.
That's something they had to code, to program, I fail to see the technical limitations or even the difference between a pallet being broken immediately after being stunned, and a mask changing expression after being stunned. Unfortunately I think this is probably a situation where DBD is trying to save money by not following through the more complicated aspects of that cosmetic concept, even though incidentally it was those same complicated aspects that made it cool in the first place. I don't think people would have upvoted for it as much as they did if those animations and cool little details weren't there.

EXACTLY.
I love you for explaining it better than I could've.

Precisely.
I don't want to bash on BHVR, but we shouldn't be paying that much for a skin that barely changes anything or is fundamentally creative. Why would I buy Oni's minotaur skin when it just doesn't make any sense? Why would I buy any of the legendaries for the Silent Hill characters when they don't change the character at all?? It's just...It's just lazy. And that's NOT the art team's fault either.

Leatherface somehow has more beauty than that though, let's be real..Lmao
