At some point, Bloodlust should be removed

The reason why bloodlust should eventually be removed from the game is to remember why it was introduced in the first place, as a quick fix to infinities and God loops on some maps, where a Killer could chase one survivor and not have a hope in hell in catching them, hence bloodlust made its debut.

Fast forward to 2020 a lot of maps have been rebalanced, notorious windows on some maps have been blocked or nerfed severely into being unsafe windows, and so bloodlust is slowly losing its purpose in every future update.

I'm not saying we've reached the point where bloodlust should be removed right now, but it definitely should be a goal to remove it in the future, because for this game to truly reach a balanced state then we have to reach a point where bloodlust is no longer needed and has become a crutch or cheese mechanic to down survivors.

For that to happen they actually need to remove the completely busted setups entirely, i doubt to see that soon.

Without bloodlust, chases would be even more annoyingly time-consuming. Loops are still bad - with very few ways to actual 'end' them in many cases. Bloodlust is the only way killers gradually gain on the survivors during these loops and can hit them to force them out of the loop; or down them to end the chase --- instead of running at the same speed. around the same loop. wasting more and more seconds.

Unless of course your underlying goal is really for killers to just "leave you alone" and go find another survivor to get into the same mess. You know, the usual attitude that killers should just abandon chases instead of ending them. Without bloodlust, you can bet that there would be even worse issues of killers either not playing or just camping someone they down so they don't have to go through chasing anyone more than once.

Alternatively, sure - end bloodlust, but raise killer base movement speeds to compensate. Killers are suppose to be faster than survivors (for the most part) anyway, but you barely notice it without bloodlust right now.

It will always be my belief that "loops" should be removed and discouraged in favor of teaching Survivors how to weave between vaults and pallets and actually lose the killer instead of having them just abandon the chase out of frustration and annoyance.

even with bloodlust there are still really annoying loops where its hard to catch the survivor lol

True, this game is so killer sided. Games end so fast because killers get bloodlust and get undeserved hits and downs. It's a crutch really, and totally unfair. There's literally NOTHING you can do against it.

/s <- needed because some people actually think like this lol

They Said they will remove it once all the big maps get reworked.

I'm ok with Bloodlust staying, for the sake of slower killers who are weaker in chase; but many maps are so dang boring for chases and full of dead zones - and something desperately needs to be done about that.

Agree with the endgoal, but I don't think we are even nearly at the point removing bloodlust is feasible. Removing bloodlust 3 could be viable at this stage though, slowly tuning it down

Agreed. We're not there yet, but it should be an end goal, to get the game to a place where blood lust is no longer needed. Slowly tuning down blood lust as the Devs make progress in achieving that end goal sounds like the best approach.

If you want to see what it's like without Bloodlust try Scratched Mirror Myers. In EW1 Myers cannot gain bloodlust.

    It's horrible.
