My idea for the Spirit

This is not a suggestion, it's a survey, please don't move it! A discussion, not yet mature πŸ€—

Many people want a "rework" of the Spirit? Ok, let me make Spirit strong but giving the possibility to counter it... yes strong, because it should be compensated and not make it difficult and even useless for most people.

During its phase the Spirit moves the grass, giving the survivors the possibility to anticipate its attack.

The duration of the power is unlimited, but requires a cooldown, giving the possibility to make up for the time it will lose when a survivor spots the grass during a long chase through the many loops of the map (moving the grass will make him lose a duel with good loopers, it's normal to have an unlimited duration for make her plan) !

What do you think about it ? Do you agree ? If yes, I will put it in the suggestions section..

I think the idea of moving the grass and having an unlimited power duration is a bit too much. Now don't get me wrong, and this is coming from someone who plays killer too, so it's not from the POV of the "Entitled Survivor", but spirit is a bit too strong. I don't think it's her power that is the issue though, because it does take genuine skill to use and catch the survivor. Equally, it takes as much skill to try and outwit her when phasing and get to a new loop. Personally I think the issue is the fact the survivor has no indication she is phasing, and this is the issue. There's no counter play to this, because there's no gameplay. Spirit, in her current state, when not just standing still, is a good killer, and by that I mean there shouldn't be any reworks or tweaks to numbers. Adding an animation to the spirit that the survivor can see would greatly balance her out. Thoughts??

The idea of the grass that moves doesn't come from me, it's the people who ask for this rework (I think)...

Unlimited power? Yes, but with charges like Wraith (input-output). It would be a huge revolution, the Spirit would become a real surprise killer, it would no longer excel in loops but rather in the rapid search for survivors. The speed in the power allows you to go quickly through the map without being seen... it would be excellent in surprise, a real ghost !

What do you think about it?πŸ€—

    Sorry i dont understand..?🀣

"let me make Spirit strong but giving the possibility to counter it... yes strong, because it should be compensated and not make it difficult and even useless for most people."

I think this is a very good point you make that most people who hate Spirit completely disregard.

The vast majority of the ideas I see just completely gut her entirely and show they haven't actually played Spirit at a decent level or amount.

Ideas like just removing her ability to hear sound entirely while phasing...I mean common seriously? She would be trash tier. 90% of her reading is based on sound. She would then be completely guessing which is the entire complaint from the survivor side in the first place...

They act like survivors are dumb and will just be running from you in a straight line, leaving a nice little scratch mark trail to use for her mind game reads, which is just ridiculous. We aren't playing against a rank 20 that doesn't know how the game works here, no one does that.

    -------------

I think for your change she would need more changes though as I see that as more of a buff than anything.

Maybe increase her footstep sounds substantially while phasing so now both her and the survivor are reading by sound and they'd better be able to know when she's phasing and where if they're skilled enough at hearing.

Adds more skill on the survivor side to counter her.

So. Spirit denies Survivors any form of information with her Husk and it's Terror Radius.

As it stands, Spirit as TONNES of information between scratch marks, blood and still retaining the ability to hear Survivors, something they cannot do, then add Stridor on top of that and certain PC Spirits adjusting audio settings to the point where a set of headphones may as well be an aura reading perk in an unknown 5th slot. If the Spirit can no longer hear Survivors while she is phasing, then that would alleviate most of the problems associated with going against a Spirit.

Add ? Don't you think the survivors already have enough skill to counter all killers ?

Okay, fine, then let's add unlimited power, equality..πŸ€—

And what do we do for console people, or PC people who don't have a good headset ? We do the same as with the nurse..πŸ€”

Oh, I am aware about the console issue. I am an Xbox player.

Enough skill? No, the average survivor is pretty bad.

I'm not trying to give Spirit more counter play or nerf her. I'm trying to make the counter play she does have be more learnable for the average player.

The footsteps sound give the survivor more intuitive counter play, not just more counter play, while you were having her ability get a much longer duration, so a give and take.

This lowers her 1v1 a little, but that increased duration is amping her map control and pressure a lot.

Maybe not as far as you want it... but I think her volume while phasing should at least be lowered. Iron Will is only a counter to her if she doesn't have Stridor (which plenty of spirits run anyways- worth the perk slot with how quickly it can shut down chases). If her audio was lowered by 50% while phasing, Stridor would still make it 150%, 50% for IW, but maybe not crazy broken, and Spirit mains certainly couldn't immediately jump to crying about big nerfs. I think also making her footsteps louder would be a good addition. At this point she just has a bit of everything... and while I'm not opposed to her being very strong, I just wish she required SLIGHTLY more skill instead of slapping Stridor on (or changing headset sounds) and calling it a day.

This is why the PTB exists, after all. If we had a way of testing this sort of thing, then it would be easier to get a better sense of what's needed.

This is entitled survivor mentality if i've ever heard it, and I play survivor. I think an indicator that shes phasing would be good, but spirit relies on sound to even get close to finding anyone, taking away the sound would make her possibly the worst killer in the game.

    Really? You're calling ME entitled?

If that's your intro, then come back when you have an actual argument.

I hope they'll consider changing how her phasing cues work sometime in the near future, then. I don't think she needs a lot of tweaking, she still can stay strong and one of the strongest in the game, but at this point she does really well against top level, and then absolutely stomps low level. And I don't think you have to be super skilled with her to stomp people out, which is an issue I have with her. If you get choked out by a Nurse, at least you know the player is skilled and put in a good amount of time to learning their killer of choice. If you lose to a Stridor Spirit with good headphones... well... you can't be sure LOL
