I can't wait for MMR so I stop getting matches like this
As you can see I don't think I should be put in matches with a green or purple rank let alone a damn red rank. This was my second match ever as pig too so that's just insult to injury.
No this isn't a rage post either. I actually had fun that match despite the loss and thank goodness the survivors weren't toxic about it.
About 3 minutes in the game they had to complete 1 more gen by the time I hooked 1 survivor. They were flying by fast. They also had a skeleton key as you can see. And a hatch offering. So as you can imagine it isn't exactly a match you want to be in when you're practicing a new killer.

This is what their mmr system did in the first place. According to the devs, rank is not a good barometer of skill, just the amount of time people can put in.
when they put their system back in place the rainbow ranks will happen consistently.

You're not wrong, matchmaking is a s*** show right now until the MMR is back on, but you did manage to get two kills so I wouldn't necessarily count it as a loss but more of a tie.
What I find a little frustrating is that the devs keep saying the MMR is coming back "soon", so for all we know that could mean two days, two weeks, two months, who knows? I've never played with Ghostface before and I really want to give him a shot, but at the rank I'm at I would be facing off against purple and red ranked survivors on a killer that I'm brand new to. And as you can attest to, that's not something I care to do.

This was probably a SWF. Nothing in the world is going to change people from doing this. I am currently a rank 3 but play with brown and green ranks when I offer to help newer members of the community learn to play.

From the sounds of it the MMR is being fixed to match survivors against your skills as a killer which admittedly it wasn't really doing in the first place. If done correctly then they should have no problem finding adequate players for matches.
I mean we've all encountered ranked twenties that never appear to be legit rank twenties as their sporting perks from multiple survivors/killers. A skill-based ranking system makes perfect sense for this game, I just hope that they'll nail it with this next go around.

Who knows, though I seriously doubt it will work as intended. Measuring skill in this game is next to impossible without revealing what the system is recording and tracking. I have basically been watching from the sidelines since pyramid head. Game burned me out and I had real life ######### to worry about instead of stressing over something that's suppose to be fun. when cross progression happens I might come back in a serious way but till then I'm playing less stressful stuff.

Yeah best part was one of them died to the trap lol. Honestly even if I don't get a single kill but have fun I consider that a personal win. It just sucks being placed in matches with people I shouldn't be with whether that be higher or lower ranks than me. Especially if it happens quite a lot. Just sad to see.

Yeah from the way they played it did seem like that. A rank 3 killer going up against brown and green ranks? I feel sorry for them if that happens but the killer they're up against isn't as merciful as you are lol.

I think I played a little bit. Can't quite remember. I know it was completely messed up when we got it but if this new MMR is much better than what we have now even if it means I'm put with rainbow ranks then I'm all for it. I just want to be put in matches with people around my skill level. Including slightly above and below. I only bring up ranks because that's the all we have as a skill indicator.

It was. But that's because it was a poor attempt at the system. I'm hoping when it returns it's a lot better than what it once was and what we currently have.

even a perfect mmr system wont work, it would remove all variety from the game good killers only verse sweat squads. good survivors only verse nurse and spirit
and it isnt going to work because you cant actually depict skill using a machine in dbd there are too many variables and rng possibilities for this game to ever accurately depict skill
