I switched from XBOX to PC; now I have to start over???
I currently use Steam to play DBD, I had to re-buy DBD in the microsoft store anyway, but now my user has changed and my rank has gone all they way to beginner level. As if I were brqand new to DBD. Is there a way to get my old game back? Even with my Microsoft store sign-in I had to start over.

Sorry but currently there is no way.
there is going to be a cross-progression feature but it doesn’t include Xbox (or PS4), only Steam, Switch and Stadia..
they are probably still negotiating with Microsoft and Sony to get it also on those consoles but at the moment, it can’t be guaranteed to eventually come to Xbox as well...

Not currently, no. Cross-progression is only coming to switch soon. The devs want to do cross-progression for other consoles, but its really up to Sony and Microsoft from my understanding, so we might never get it.
