Good lord getting Adept is infuriating.
Perfect score, everyone dead, gates closed, but suck it because they finished a gen slightly too early. Sorry I couldn't keep a gen from being completed using these perks that grant me no information outside of someone being near a totem.
I normally don't go for Adept, because who cares, but I noticed that on Steam it has a 0% (not 0.1%) completion rate, I want to be part of the 0%! These matches are truly painful. Should've just deranked to green ranks.
Oh goody, just noticed I left a black ward on by mistake after switching out my add-ons. Gotta save that yellow and green I guess!

That's not really true... there was a time when all you had to do was get 4 kills in a match, no need to double pip. But to be fair, that seemed to be a bug and not intended. But anyway.. I mean they could just change it to be 4 kills..

Killer use to just be kill all survivors without any other requirements. Then out of nowhere they required a perfect game but did not do the same to survivor.

At least on PC you can change an achievement to whatever you want, whenever you want. Why they'd ever make it this ridiculous to begin with is absurd to me. Double pips aren't exactly super common even when you're running on all cylinders with your best perks/add-ons, let alone running with the usually 2 out of 3 trash perks and one decent perk (that doesn't really synergize very well with the trash) that come with each character.

You used to get a merciless just for getting a 4k, but when they reworked the ranking system they couldnt change the achievement since a "merciless killer" is still possible even if its much harder

The achievement itself has never changed it always been to achieve a "merciless killer using only the 3 teachable perks"

That's because they changed the merciless killer pip conditions somewhere around autumn 2018, I think. It used to be easier but now you have to be acting nanny until survivors have had a chance to make enough sand castles in their playground. I got my adept Blight yesterday and had to show a Claudette to go rescue her teammate and then I got big fat DS in the face as a reward from her.
The problem is also Sony since they don't allow trophy conditions to be changed unless it's become impossible to achieve in game. The only way is for the devs to change merciless killer conditions in-game. Current conditions are just so stupid and futile, since you just have to farm and screw around if you wipe the floor with survivors too fast.

Yeah, I think I'm done with this. This achievement actively makes me like the game less, and makes me want to play it less. I was having a great time with Blight all week, now I just want to uninstall this game and go play something made by developers who have some semblance of an idea of how to make a game.

They cannot change the current achievements.
Initially "merciless" was a 4k, when achievements were added to console, they said "get a merciless victory" which was a 4k.
The killer cube changed "merciless" to mean a specific score with emblems, however the achievements still incorrectly awarded this for a 4k.
Consoles allowed them to change the achievements when the Steam ones changed because the description no longer matched the requirement.
Now, they cannot change them on console because consoles will not allow the changing of achievements that are both accurate, and still possible, regardless of how difficult. It's why Skilled Huntress has never been changed, because it's hard not impossible.
They COULD get around it by renaming "No One Survived" to "Merciless Victory" (ie, the score event for killing everyone by any means) and then rename what a double pip is. That would allow them to change the achievement requirements, and like before should be allowable on console.

That's extremely annoying to see. Unfortunately we've all been there with adepts at rank 1.
I got extremely lucky with my adept. It was my 4th attempt at going for the adept and I got badham 2. First survivor dc'ed on the hook so I had to farm the remaining survivors to try and get the trophy. I only got 8 hooks total the whole game yet I somehow got the adept. I thought you needed to get at least 10/11 hooks but I somehow got lucky.

As a survivor I actually agree with you that its not fair and they need to seriously rework it. I hate how you have to pay money just to try to get these achievements

Not really depending on how they change them. Maybe they'll keep a condition that a key can open the hatch if all gens are completed regardless of how many survivors are alive, it hardly matters then since they can go out the gate anyway.
Keys are really only problematic when you kill 1-2 people and the game suddenly ends.

Adepts are tough man, I onyl got a hand few of them for killer and a lot more for survivor, FOr killer I have Clown, Demo, Pig, GF, and PH, don't stop trying though, I wish you good luck.

I don't see why killer and survivor adept achievements need to be equally easy to get. I play both sides and I like the challenge of the killer adept achievements personally, but I think the game should have a mix of easy and hard achievements so that you feel like you have something to work towards no matter what your experience level is.
If we really must make them the same, though, I'd personally rather make the survivor adept achievement require a +2 too. I like when achievements feel like actual achievements, y'know?

Yeah, the Emblem system and Adepts are a piece of crap. They made these changes to have a player's rank more accurately reflect a player's skill, yet they don't at all. All they did was just show how many chances Killers are willing to give Survivors (9+ hooks for Iri Devout lol). Plague was the first to deal with this BS. Even while the Emblem system was active, a 4k would still give you the Adept (I got Leatherface's Adept while getting a Ruthless Killer and Legion's even though one bled out). The Killer Adepts unfortunately became the victims of BHVR changing things for no reason (it was around the time Plague released), and now we have the unfun messes they are today.
Making Survivor require a double pip would not work at all. Achievements also need to be fun. Getting a double pip, especially at red ranks with a hard-to-learn Killer (where the requirements are 3 iri and one gold or all iris), is not fun at all. Escaping/4k is a better idea and actually makes these achievements obtainable without ripping your hair out. If you want to challenge yourself and do them at red ranks, then you can do that without forcing everyone else to do so. Some of us just want to get our achievement and be done with it and still have all our hair.

After a nice long night of sleep and a resignation of my very soul, I equipped the dirty Compound 21 and an Alchemist's Ring and moved that 0% to 0.1%.

I'm 100% sure I'm not actually the first (I'm guessing many got it the day Blight came out) but it was still fun to watch it move.
And I'll never do it again. It was awful.

I think there's a difference when you're someone who normally goes after achievements, I assume you guys just sort of mentally fortify yourselves for the frustration. I just did this on a whim because I thought it'd be funny to have an achievement that "0%" of people had. In the end I accomplished my goal and felt nothing, as I became one with the Blight.

Meanwhile, my second game ever as The Pig since I just want to unlock all the killer perks, I merciless but don't get the achievement because I only have one of her perks equipped instead of all 3, because I literally only had one perk slot. Such a weirdly specific achievement.

You gotta de-rank to Purple so you can afford to have one gold emblem. Perfect iredescents on most Killers is borderline impossible.

I take it you’re talking about new Nurse, right? While old Nurse was infuriating, she had insane add-ons and a different Adept requirement (kill everyone) to make it slightly easier.

I remember Oni and Plague adepts.. I could never use their power because of the stupid ass Chase emblem. One Hit downs with Oni or hitting a broken survivor as Plague = Relentless AT BEST. It was so stupid.

Got another Merciless with Pig, this time with all 3 of her perks instead of just 1 in a single perk slot, so I got the achievement. These can be extremely frustrating, but damn are they good at teaching you to use the basekit of the killer really effectively as well as making you feel insanely powerful when you get to use REAL perks. Really helps you fully grasp the impact of each add-on as well.
Still not worth the initial frustration, but I guess if I'm leveling killers from 1 with little BP rather than just dumping a half million into them for teachables, it's a good way to accelerate the learning process.

Feel like there's a trend here. Second game as Demo... merciless, but only 1 perk. Finally get enough perks to do adept, merciless ruined over and over again by stuff I don't control. DCs, a survivor on the ground having the hatch spawn literally underneath them, one match where I had an unactivated portal right next to the hatch (I had to let people finish a gen to allow it to spawn...) and had a plan to deal with it, get the second-to-last person on death hook and as I'm carrying them they DC so the hatch immediately opens and the last one jumps through it.
And this last game...
4 points short of iridescent... somehow 3-hooking the entire team before the gates open isn't me winning enough chases? Man, this entire system is #########. Seriously, I'm sick of how awful this experience is. Just total nonsense making things take so much longer than they should.
I know, I know, just get the perks before you play the killer... but I bet then it just skips straight to the "total nonsense ruining each attempt" part. Almost feels like a joke at some point.
