My Rating of Possible licensed killers

1. Pinhead: I really like Hellraiser, it isn't my favorite horror movie but I wouldn't mind seeing him in DbD, the only thing is that I dont find him scary or intimidating. In the movie I felt like he was scary because he was the "leader" or the main baddie, but if I saw him in a dark alley, I wouldn't be too scared.

Overall 6/10

2. Springtrap: I like Fnaf. Kill me, hate me, idc I like Fnaf. I think it would be awesome to have Springtrap as a killer in DbD, he has a reason to kill, he is honestly quite intimidating, and there is a ton of potential for his power.

8/10

3. Jason: I have not been a fan of Friday the 13th. Nothing against it I just prefer my Scream and Nightmare On Elm Street when it comes to slashers. Jason has potential, but personally, I dont see it.

4/10

4. Xenomorph: Oh yeah. Just check this out

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/191131/xenomorph-in-dead-by-daylight#latest and you'll understand what I think of the Xenomorph.

10/10

5. Candyman: Same as Jason. Never got into it, but the remake did seem cool, once it comes out (if ever) I'll check it out and give my opinion, but right now the only thing I like about him is how gross the bee thing is.

3/10

6. The Grudge Person

I dislike the Grudge. I dont remember the ghosts name, I honestly would hate to have this killer in the game.

1/10

7. A Quiet Place Monster

I liked A Quiet Place. Not as much as say Alien or It (2017) but I enjoyed it. The killer would be super unique, being the only non humanoid in the game so far, and being able to listen and not see, sounds awesome, sadly idk how they would do this. But here's hoping!

7/10

8. Pennywise: It (2017) is one of my favorite movies of all time. I hope we could get Bill Skarsgards Pennywise as the base skin and get Tim Currys as a free skin. I think if we got the losers Club as one survivor and just has skins for different characters that would be neat. I like Pennywise and I think this would make an excellent addition to the killer roster.

10/10

9. The Thing

The Thing won't happen because BHVR already said they won't make a killer who can disguise as a survivor. But let's imagine the awesomeness BHVR is missing out on. The Thing honestly scares me, thinking that someone near me could be a weird flesh melding alien is an oddly terryfying thought. I think The Thing would make an excellent killer, making the survivors not trust each other, its super awesome and it makes me sad that we won't get it.

10/10

10. Hannibal: Sielence of the Lambs is an amazing book, and the movie was decent too. But honestly Hannibal isn't brutal enough to just kill four people. He is strategic, manipulative, he will fu*k with your mind until you go crazy. He isn't a slasher killer, he is just a murderer.

2/10

11. Slender Man

Sure. Why not. I would buy it. Not my first choice but he has potential, is intimidating, a cool concept, and is fairly popular, I wouldnt mind his addition.

7/10

12. Nemisis: I think Nemisis is a little over the top but I think would be a cool addition. The rocket launcher would need to be changed and, honestly I think there are better Resident Evil villains to pick from, but this one is the most popular. So, eh.

6/10

13. Pumpkin Head

Haven't seen the movie but the design looks neat!

5/10

14. Velociraptor from Jurassic Park

No

0/10

15. The Creeper (Jeepers Creepers)

Dope idea, dope design, dope kills, dope movie, I think this is a cool idea. I find him scary, and would not want to face him in a game of DbD, not because I dont want him, but because I think it would be scary.

9/10

16. Jack Torrence

I dont know personally. I like The Shining but I dont think Jack would be that great of a killer. He doesn't really have the intimidation of the other killers, and he is just a human. A middle age human. The legion is a slick teenager(s), trapper is fairly buff, Hillibilly and Bubba have god damn chainsaws, but he has an axe... thats about it. He personally isn't that scary, and I dont really think he would be a good addition.

3/10

And that is all! Tell me any killers you think of that I missed. Happy Gaming!

The quiet place monster being the only non humanoid in the game?

    Demogorgon disliked that.

Everyone always jumps on pennywise for the Steven King inclusion. But I always thought Jack Torrance as killer, Wendy as survivor, and the overlook hotel/maze garden as the map would be a much better fit for dbd. Especially with breakable walls now being a thing.

Loved seeing another person consider it , even if i have to disagree with the rating.

Captain Cutlers Ghost from scooby doo. Stains portions of the map, gens, and survivors with his fluorescence.

Surprised Jason got such a low rating when he is one of the biggest slasher icons of all time (easily a peer of Myers, Freddy, Leatherface, and Ghost Face). Sure he didn't star in the original F13, but his hockey mask has probably become THE most recognizable thing in the slasher genre. He'd likely be a shoe-in for DbD (Trapper was likely inspired by him) if all the legal battles over his IP are ever truly sorted out.

Stephen King denied the Devs licenses for his IPs. They will never do the Creeper from Jeepers Creepers. Not saying why. Just look it up. Resident Evil is looking to be more of a possibility every month with Resistance slowly dying. Candyman is inbound according to leaks (Might be released a month after the legacyquel). Springtrap is in consideration (thanks Dawko and Scott Cathown). Xenomorph might be a possibility, but knowing Disney, not happening. Same with Predator. If they do Pinhead, hopefully they do him justice after the crappy movies released recently. Jason is a high possibility. His game is slowly dying, and from what I heard, the lawsuit is almost done.

No the reason you don't want Jeepers Creepers in the game is because the creator is a pedo and nobody wants to give him money

Pretty good list. 🙂 Some random thoughts

    1. Pinhead: I think this would be a good license. It's a somewhat well known franchise and killer, he has a great look, and his chains abilities could make for an interesting killer mechanic possibly. Also his map might be kind of cool if they go with some sort of cubic maze.

    2. Springtrap: Never played the game so... 🤷‍♂️

    3. Jason: Too similar to Trapper so not really excited about Jason. Also pretty unlikely since there is already a Friday the 13th video game and since I think I've heard Jason is a bit of a licensing nightmare (I could be wrong on that last part though, who knows?)

    4. Xenomorph: Alien would fit really well in this game. Could be a tough license to get but there are some neat things they could do with it.

    5. Candyman: Considering there's a Candyman remake coming in 2021 this one seems more likely than the others to me, simply because the studio would probably be looking to make a licensing deal to help push the new movie.

    6. The Grudge Person: I think I'd prefer Samara from The Ring over the ghost from The Grudge.

    7. A Quiet Place Monster - Wow, this is a neat one! I'm surprised I haven't seen Quiet Place suggested before, that was a great movie and the monsters were pretty cool. 😄 And they might even be able to do something interesting with playing the game by "sonar". For example, maybe you can't see survivors if they are crouching further than a certain distance from you, but you can see them as auras or killer instincts if they are walking or running or working on gens, etc. It would be kind of a cross between Spirit and Doctor.

    8. Pennywise: This is a popular choice, they could probably do something cool with him. His abilities are pretty vague so hard to say what it would be like, but the map of the sewer he lives in might be interesting.

    9. The Thing: A killer who can impersonate survivors would be interesting in principle but I have no idea how they'd do it mechanically. One possibility would be that if you are playing this game as The Thing then the survivors see five survivors at the campfire at the beginning with you being one of them. Then you can walk around and move just like a normal survivor and "work on gens", etc, but in reality you are sabotaging the gens and setting up ambushes on the survivors. Swfs on comms would be a hard counter though.

    10. Hannibal: Hannibal is a great villain but probably not a great killer for this game. He's more of a psychological character than a hack and slash killer for the most part.

    11. Slender Man: Eh, don't really care about Slender Man too much, other than he has an interesting look.

    12. Nemisis: Never played Resident Evil, I just remember a lot of zombies from the movie

    13. Pumpkin Head: Terrible movie

    14. Velociraptor from Jurassic Park: I could be ok with a dinosaur type killer I suppose.

    15. The Creeper (Jeepers Creepers): A winged demon in a trench coat could be pretty cool if they could figure out a good way to do that sort of ability. I think they mentioned at one point they did experiment with killers who could fly but could find a good way to balance them since being able to see and fly over obstacles is a huge advantage.

    16. Jack Torrence: He's be kind of a dumb killer, but a map of the hotel would be awesome!

I'll throw in three additional characters as well:

Ventriloquist from Dead Silent: A killer who can inhabit or control mannequins or ventrilquist dummies scattered around the map could be fun.

Dr. Jeckyl and Mr Hyde: A killer with two "stances", a Jeckyl stance where he has some sort of tracking or stealth or gen slowdown advantage but is otherwise a basic killer, and a Hyde stance where he is a brute in a chase that can maybe quickly smash pallets or lunge but has not out-of-chase ability. Oni is a little bit in this vein of a killer with two forms, but something along those lines with different abilities.

Lucifer or the Yellow Eyed Demon from Supernatural: I'd love to see a Supernatural DLC pack with the Winchesters as survivors and one of their Demon enemies as the killer. A demon from Supernatural would probably have something like a smoke-form fast travel on the map and an ability where they can briefly Possess a survivor and make them attack another survivor or damage a generator or drop or break a pallet, etc. To be balanced and not too irritating for the survivors Possession would probably have to have a brief duration and reasonably long cooldown but it could be a pretty fun ability. 😄 (For the Winchesters I think perks Brotherly Love where maybe they buff the obsession and Angel Blade which would be a melee attack you can do while standing near the killer to stun them would fit. And the map could be The Bunker or maybe The Crossroads.)

I dont know why people keep saying Jason is too similar to Trapper. Because he's a big white dude? I don't know a ton about Jason but I never seen him even touch a bear trap in any of the movies i've seen.

Also Jeepers Creepers will never happen and they could probably get the licenses for dirt cheap. Any money is too much money to give to child predators

The jeepers Creepers issue is ridiculous. The director broke the law, not the monster, the artist who designed it, nor the actor who played it. Iconic movie villain and easily the scariest killer yet to make dbd.

Wish people would stop being so sensitive.

Doesn't matter, if they want the Creeper they have to do business with a pedo, and they don't want that.

The neat thing about Pinhead and Candyman is that they were both created by Clive Barker. So if we got one I'd think we'd get the other as well as a Legendary Skin. ☺

I never even thought of Jack Torrance. That would work great for DBD they could even make an overlook map. and him breaking down doors with his axe would fit as well. and he's crazy and kinda trapped in his own realm to begin with.

Hey! Its the person that made this! I want to clarify I didn't know about the Jeepers Creepers thing with the director. Im sorry! I think his inclusion would be good, but let's not involve a pedo in this.

Am I the only one who hates the monsters from A Quiet Place simply because it feels like they ripped of the Future Predators?

Other than that probably-minor detail, I'd love to see a monster based on one of them. A monstrous killer that uses sonar? Could be a doc-style anti-stealth killer, even if it wouldn't really fit the rest of the cast.
