How Do You Feel About The Possibility Of Slendermans Inclusion?
I made a poll about him like 2 months ago but I want a "comment your thoughts thing" as well as a straight "vote" post. So I'd like to know what people think. I personally think he'd make an amazing addition. Probably as a paragraph (Made a concept on it:https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/192762/slender-concept-paragraph#latest #shameless plug). He was name dropped a long while back by one of the devs as well. So what do you guys think of him? Yay or Nay?

indifferent.

eh I personally wouldn't want a creepypasta as a killer lol

Things like Five Nights at Freddy would be already getting there with me so scaryspaghetti getting would probably a little to much for me personally

Personally I wouldn't mind it- out of all the oldschool Creepypasta's he was definitely the best imo. I'd hardly be heartbroken if he didn't show up though, and if they dare try and get the version from that atrocious film I think it will be the one chapter I don't own.
And that's saying something because I own even Oni.

It seems this kind of lower tier horror characters (this isn´t meant as an insult, but just compare say slender or springtrap with the likes of Myers or Freddy Krueger for example) has a rather dedicated fanbase. So yeah BHVR might add some of those.
I would kinda mind it though as I feel they would drag the quality of DBD down a little in terms of what is included, and what not.
I wouldn´t rant or cry on the forums though, just grind the achievements and never ever touch the character again.

Thats fair. Something inside me would break if they go for that dumpster fire of a film.

If they can implement a character like this in a fun way (both to play and play against) then I don't really have any issue with it.
Because Slenderman is a "lower tier horror character", I don't really see why BHVR would make a big effort to include it. They'd probably be more likely to build an in-house character whose design was inspired by Slenderman instead. This would also leave their team with full creative control over this character without needing to license them.
Though we did get the Stranger Things chapter because of how the popularity of that show exploded, so anything's possible.

of all the old school creepypastas I'd be happiest for slendy boy
no matter if you love him or hate him, he's influential as the one to essentially kick off short online horror stories and bring them into the limelight (leading to things like the SCP foundation) and we have had no representation from that medium.
I also personally like his aesthetic
my only possible concern is them making him unfun

I think I'd lose the last thread holding me to life lmao

Given the baggage that comes with it? No, thank you.

You don't know about the murders?

The murders? I know of one attempted murder that failed. Not multiple that succeeded.

Given the theme of the game there are loaded issues already- the whole Killer clown trope for example was kicked off by John Wayne Gacy, a notorious sexual predator and serial Killer. Or Ed Gein by whom (very, very loosely though) the TCM franchise was partly inspired.
I think I heard somewhere that Jeepers Creepers won´t be added to DBD for what the license holder is, too.
Can you elaborate on what went down with slenderfans?

Okay, I looked it up and heres what I found.
A couple of twelve year olds with undiagnosed mental issues went online and found stuff about slenderman.
They wanted to worship him and thought the best way to do that was to kill someone.
They lured their former friend out to a forest and stabbed her 19 times.
Luckily the girl survived and both the kids were arrested an sent to an asylum.
Thats all I could find, one attempted murder. Pretty sure that happened with Saw as well a while back.

My bad. I could've sworn there had been more than one.

No worries mate. Happens to the best of us.

I hope so and will be cool if they make is power use Madness since most games with him in inflict harm on your sanity but also Madness is only used by the Doctor which kinda sucks since I do like the madness effect but don't really like how the Doctor uses it since is like a spam power.
Best part is you can either find pages to reduce the Madness or try and snap your self out which will take longer depending if he is near.

Oh my. Thanks for taking the time!

Ambivalent. It would depend entirely on what his kit is.
I'd much rather see BHVR take some time and bring bottom tier perks/killers up to snuff before podging out more content.

I think he's definitely an underrated pick.
I'm not petitioning for his inclusion or anything, but I wouldn't be upset by any means. In my opinion, like Springtrap, he should come to the game at some point, whether it be now, or a few years down the line when some of the more major horror icons are already in (and there's not a whole lot of those left).
Slenderman falls into a weird niche of horror (internet/pop culture), which isn't something that DbD traditionally goes for, but it definitely has its fair share of cool characters. Once people get over the "Popular = Bad/Children" mentality then I think he'll be a lot more widely accepted. People forget that he became popular for a reason.

Let's also not forget that The Doctor is based off of an actual Chinese Doctor who'd use often lethal electotherapy to cure children and teens of video game addictions.

Oh man, didn´t even know about that. Horrible...
1 -
FNAF would be good - imagine 3 or 4 automatons around the map that you could move between at will (with cool downs of course)
0 -
I'd be down for their inclusion, but they aren't on the top of my list.
0 -
I don't know if I want a creepypasta killer but I'm fan of FNAF so sure why not
can he be like this?
0 -
Gonna be honest I lost it at the head nodding.
0 -
He's more of a one moment he's there the other moment he's not type of killer. I just think he'd look ridiculous in a chase.
0 -
Nothing says horror like getting chased by a rabbit and a chicken
0 -
Horror is subjective, some might find those chucky cheese rejects scary whilst others like you find them laughable. Same with characters like Chucky.
0 -
true I feel like jack skellington was chasing me.
0 -
Slenderman would make zero sense in this game.
0 -
I'm not advocating for his release nor would I do the opposite, so i'm indifferent.
However i'm not sure how they would go about some things, namely how he would move/chase/interact with anything.
The pages would be an easier mechanic to creative something from. Maybe there are pages scattered around the map, similar to piggy and plague's power, that a survivor could interact with from the start. Every survivor has there own pages to collect that only they can see (so no advantages for swf), and doing so does whatever.
Another route they could take is creating there own version based of Slenderman as someone else pointed out. I'd be fine with that as well.

Might as well have Siren Head. He's creepier I think and more current(although just as over-played) as Slenderman.
0 -
Negative. I rather have Springtrap than Slenderman.
0 -
I believe creepy pastas could be a good inspiration for the devs, some are pretty creative.
I wouldnt mind having slenderman but he would probably be impossible to fit in with the devs guidelines of every Killer, like everyone has a M1 attack, every Killer needs to interact with certain things and stuff like that.
Probably wouldnt work for Dbd. But i would love to have a Killer that brings fresh new things and maybe breaks the rules of all other Killers and is for example more strategic than action dependend.

Positive, he is an interesting character who lore could be well weaved into the DbD lore.
Those "ew creppy pasta" kids' opinions don't count.
0 -
Why do we have huntress then? Rabbit girl by the way.
0 -
Huntress is a "rabbit girl"?
(read her lore)
1 -
She is indeed, look at her mask. I (and I'm pretty sure many other people) can't take her or her lullaby (which is never associated with something scary in the culture it is coming from) serious or think she is scary. She is in the game nonetheless, even if people don't think she is scary.
Same goes for lore.
When do you people learn that horror is subjective?
