Does the hatch ever spawn in the basement?

When I was first getting into the game the friend that bought the game for me said that it sometimes does which typically leads to me checking (and getting killed in) the basement in some trials, so I just wanted to clear this up.

No. The closest it could ever spawn to basement is within the main building or by shack, but never in the basement. Hatch spawns are map dependent though.

No, it can't.

no the hatch cant spawn in the basement. but it can spawn in shack, when the basement is there.
and it can never spawn upstairs, if the map has multiple floors like hawkings or the game.
only exception i found is the small hut on mount ormond. the hatch can spawn inside it.
