Google News On Mobile Randomly Selects Forum Threads?

This is something I've been meaning to bring up for a while but randomly when on my phone, If I swipe left to the news things it does (Im on android, not sure about iOS) the feed there will casually select random threads to highlight, these will be next to articles most likely related to my interests but I just find it weird that random threads are showing up.


Here's a screenshot so you can see what Im talking about.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this intended? Am I perhaps dumb????

    Aye, I've been getting the random threads on my news feed for a while..


    I don't know if it just selects a random thread from the forum as its a regular site i visit but its always a thread i haven't read


    I think if the history and cookies are cleared it will stop showing a thread but i think its kinda cool when it tells me about a thread that I've not read.
