Will progress ever get to carry over from platform to platform?

I've played this game for a very long time on PS4, I've gotten multiple prestige characters with great perks and addons, I've bought all the DLC and I really enjoy this game but, I recently made a gaming PC, and I really want to experience this game on PC, but I do not want to grind all over again for all my characters. Will it ever be possible to have progress carry over, or have an platform become linked to an overall account?

I don't care if I have to at least buy all the DLC over again on PC, I just want my progress to carry over so I don't have all those wasted hours.

    Cross progression was confirmed to arrive somewhere this September or maybe a few weeks after, but it's only for Switch/Stadia/Steam, so you can't transfer progress from PS4 to Steam once it does arrive. They are working on getting it ready for all platforms though.

    Cross progression was leaked a bit ago. They are probably still ironing out bugs. It should be coming soon.

    PS4 is iffy with stuff like that. I wanted my Paladins content to carry over, but Sony has some legal issue and prevents it. So everyone can get all their stuff but us PS4 users. I hope DBD lets us because I have near everything here and may one day want to switch to PC if I ever get one.

    We can't guarantee that there will be cross progression between PS4/Xbox & PC I'm afraid. The only thing we can say with certainty is that there will be cross progression with Steam, Switch & Stadia. We would like to have more cross progression options available but for now that isn't happening and we can't say if it will ever be able to happen.

    Do you have perhaps any update on the time the confirmed cross Progression will come?

    last we heard of it, it was said it will come September iirc.

    @MandyTalk could you explain why crossplay between pc and ps4/xbox is unlikely?
