Did Oni get a nerf?
I played Oni when he first came out and he felt pretty solid around A-S tier but now he feels worse but idk what it is or is it just me?

I think it´s more due to the fact that people got the hang on how to play vs him. In jungle gyms or LT walls for example it´s next to impossible to get hits with the kanabo.

The previous poster already touched on this, but I'll reiterate. Whenever a new Killer comes out, there is a temporary shift in the META because whatever new trick or design throws people for a loop. However, since a new Killer is always the flavor of the week, he/she gets a LOT of play. In a very short time, people get very good against said Killer based on the excessive amount of practice.

he got nerfed from ptb for the better he can no longer do a full 180 flick only 90 which is good imo it made it completely impossible to survive against his power which is still kind of prevalent but not to the same extent he is fun to verse and very strong especially if you master him

I would say no, besides the first nerf that locked his camera to like 45° but then got reverted back to the 90°, after that he hasn't gotten any nerfs.
Oni main here.

Oni needs a slew of nerfs.
Ja. I said it.

You know you can deny his power permanently if you just play it safe and drop the pallet early right? He needs at least 1 blood orb/hit to activate his power even with 98% passive charge. He's extremely strong in his power because he has to be.
He's traplesss trapper if you play conservatively.

Thank you. I´d like to add that there are quite a few tiles where a good Survivor can reliably deny the instadown - hence basically negating his power almost entirely - and there are quite a few tricks to juke him.

I don't play him because I think his movement is weird but it blows my mind when people call him OP. He's overtaken Billy as the "perfect balance" for a killer IMO.

No.

Very constructive response.

I like how definitive it is. Not even calling me wrong he just outright denies the entire statement.

It’s kinda wrong. But kinda right.

I know that guy. I remember he revived a thread 7 months old to reply to a comment and say "no".

That works until you realize he's using an anti-loop/pallet build. Now you've got deadzones everywhere and a raging monster tearing through the level.

Interesting. I have yet to encounter an Oni with chase perks though. In my experience, huge waste - detection and stall work better, at least for me.

If you are constantly trying to get downs with his dash at loops then you aren't playing him correctly. Oni has everything he needs in his kit to deal with any kind of loop during his power, you just aren't using it correctly. Oni seems simple on the surface but is in fact an extremely high skill cap killer. Try learning how to use his basic insta down strike during Fury and you will find T/L walls and the like are not an issue.

True. But by that point if your teammates arent messing about 3 gens should be done and the its curtains
Also once you know he has Spirit fury just drop the pallet early. A lot of fury players desperately try to keep any dropped pallets there if SF is already active and screw themselves over.
