Stop trying to kobe into people's faces!
This is a thing that is annoying me for many months now. I face so many survivor who try to kobe or even use deliverance in my face which is just completely frustrating and unefficient for the whole team. Not only is it not nice to deny someone of their unhooking points but the unhooker left an objective for basically nothing.
I seriously don't get the egoistic mindest behind that. So please... if someone who does that reads this: stop doing that. It's just completely time wasting and not very fun. Eventhough kobe's are rare the few times it works it just feels like a punch in your face and you regret that you even wanted to rescue that person. This game suffers from it's bad community and doing stuff like this isn't making it better when it comes to solo queue teamplay and being a good sport in general.

Whenever I see someone do that in my face as survivor, I am so tempted to just wait and let them hit struggle stage.
If you don't want to be rescued dont wait until the very last moment.

Deliverance I’m okay with, because they can’t tell you they have it so it’s really just one of the inefficiencies of solo queue. Can’t blame them too much for wanting to use their perk. Trying to kobe in the face of a rescuer is annoying though and I’m always tempted to turn and walk away when people do it.

So if somebody does that to me and actually kobes in my face when I ran half way across map to save you before you hit struggle.
You better hope there are other people ready to save you when you're on second hook. I will walk by the hook butt dance spam unhook for a bit and then leave. If the other survivors don't come and get you you're pretty much dead.
Now I get it it you might want to wait until the killer leaves and someone just happens to come up by that point but honestly I don't mind even if you just do the camping signal to stop me from coming over there just don't make me waste my time.

I did that when deliverance came out because i found it funny, but i stopped doing that when i realized how annoying and stupid it was.

Yeah, I’ve been Kobe’d on about 25 times.
This is a pitiful trend that I first noticed happening more and more frequently about 4-5 months ago. It happens ALL the time now, and you’re the first person I’ve seen actually talking about it. Not sure how it originated... gained popularity via streamers, I imagine. Now almost everyone is doing it.
90% of the unhooks I go for, the survivor will attempt an escape. They’ll do it twice if I’m nearby and coming for them shortly after they’ve been hooked; Once if I’m far off. If there isn’t enough timer left, then they won’t attempt the kobe.
Even when I’m not coming for them, during EVERY match, at least 1 person will attempt the escape. I watch them do it to other survivors (and I place emphasis on the “TO other survivors” because it’s totally rude knowing someone is right there for the rescue, and they take it upon themselves to rob them and their teammates of the time it took to leave their objective to race over to the inconsiderate hooked survivor’s rescue, and also to potentially rob the rescuer of BPs and pip points, should they happen to spring off right in front of the rescuer.
I’ve had a couple of people do it when their timer was too far and they ended up advancing themselves into 2nd hook phase.
smh.
It used to be only jumping jacks, then the Kobe trend started. Funny how they do only fully go for the Kobe when they know someone is coming to help.
A few times the thought of letting them attempt escape twice and then standing there to watch them slip into the 2nd phase tried to take over my good conscious, but I just can’t bring myself to be inconsiderate back to anyone, no matter how rude they are.
It’s incredibly childish.
I’ve never done it, wish they wouldn’t either.
It’s a silly trend.

If people stopped doing this. Cows' videos would lose a lot of content

Look at you kids who think you're cool. "Oh I'll just spam the unhook acton, oh I'll just let you try and Kobe and die" you guys are pathetic asf for that. Majority the time I try and Kobe is because you other 3 were dumb as all hell and weren't doing anything. Then hops on a gen for 1 second and claims you actually did something. Lol majority the time I Kobe in their face and in glad for it. Also majority the maps are so small. You're that lazy you don't want to go t another part of the map?! Ohhh nooo God forbid the babies don't get their way.

It's not about being lazy, it's about having a toxic mindset and wasting someones time in a game where time is a big thing. I am leaving gens so often just to not finish the gen and then someone kobe's. Nice. Ofc if teammates are not doing anything at all it is also frustrating but you can be sure that all people who complain on this post are being efficient. I would never go out of my way and complain about others behaviour if I would just hide in a corner all game. And having the mindset of "if you are not doing anything I will kobe into your face" is also not helping the community at all. Sure, you can do what you want but I don't think that's something you should aim for.

Am I the only one who does this TO waste time? Genrush is a problem, so I do this to slow the game and make it fair to the killer.

It's really annoying to be denied the unhook points and the WGLF stack. It just makes you feel like you wasted time for no reason, especially when you cross the map for the save. The first time it happened to me I decided I wouldn't heal them and they followed me around for a while, before getting caught again. I also may have possibly perhaps teabagged in front of them while they struggled on the hook. Maybe.

Walk away and I won't Kobe in your face then!

I’m sure what they’re describing does happen, but the obvious truth is that it’s a trend that occurs far too frequently to be anything like the people who do it for reasons like they’ve mentioned in that post.
It feels as though the mentality is like, “Okay, since someone’s coming to my rescue, I’ll attempt an escape... if I make it, great, I kobe’d, if not, it’s still okay because I’m about to get saved anyway.”
I’ve also noticed it happen where they see the rescuer in route, attempt the Kobe, then the killer shows up and chases that person away and they end up on second hook; when they could have not attempted the Kobe and would have been rescued while still on 1st hook by the next rescuer who was on their way after seeing the 1st rescuer attacked and chased off. In this case, they’re now going to be dead hook and that could be the difference in any number of events that could occur to advance the match to a potential escape (eg. use up more of the killer’s time, progress gens, cleanse totems, etc.)
It’s even worse if this (Kobe fail) happens from multiple survivors using the Kobe in rescuer’s face playstyle, thus creating multiple dead hooks.
Can’t really understand why people would want to play that way, especially knowing it’s affecting the entire team.

I mean, I do it cause you get BP for doing it and you know you’ll get saved.
Nobody is doing it to be rude, just BP most likely

I don't care if someone does it before I reach them as long as they are giving themselves a safe unhook. They get points for unhooking themselves and there's an achievement for doing it. Devs want people to do it, they even encourage it with the change to slippery meat to ONLY be for unhooking yourself.
The thing I don't like is when the person is either trying to unhook themselves or suicide on hook and instead they get saved (safe unhook too) so they decide to get the unhooker killed because they are upset someone saved them. I've noticed this happening more often lately so if I see a survivor move to kobe at all I don't bother trying to save because I don't feel like dealing with someone trying to get me killed because I unhooked them.

When i have bad games and someone trying to kobe in my face, i'm letting him until the second stage 😂

Maybe they're trying to work on their kobe achievement? They know they can safely attempt a self unhook before you unhook them and that's probably why. I don't do it, but try to see thing from both perspectives.

It’s best to look at things from both perspectives, definitely. The achievement theory could be valid for some.
If that’s really the case, then I always have at least 1 person (and it’s usually 2-3ppl) every match for the past 4-5 months trying to get that achievement. That’s unusual. I play between 4-8 hours a day. That’s a lot of people trying to get that achievement and many of them who are trying already have their platinum.
Just seems like a “cool thing to do” popular trend that’s going on.

The only times I've ever tried to kobe is when the person trying to save me gets downed by the killer and either there is two of us or the other one/two are far too entertained trying to gen-rush or when I'm the only remaining survivor on the trial and it's my first hook for whatever reason.
I find it rather unsettling to do it in other scenarios. I've gotten multiple people commit suicide right as I'm about to touch them...
Thus far I've only been successful thrice without Slippery Meat, but I prefer to let my teammates get more points for Altruism.

Im gonna start doing it because the replies make me think its funny lol. Plus i need that achievement

I blame them for deliverance. If they use it early fair enough but if they use it when their close screw them. Someone left an objective and made the effort to come for you hy deny them points? And why put yourself into broken status when they might have we’ll make it or something? Its just a dumb play

But I have the numbers :(
