New Tome didn't give enough rift fragments?

I completed almost every single challenge and I'm still like 7 tiers away from 70. WTH. I don't remember it being this hard in the past tomes? Kinda sucks. IT closes in like 5 days

You only get about half of the tiers by fragments another half comes from playing the game

i mean geez that is some grind. Can't you only get like 1 rift fragment per match?

Instead of completing the rift in Week Seven last tome, I completed it in Week Eight this tome.

Someone did out the math and it's something like 6-8 tiers less rift fragments earned from challenges in tome 4 than tome 2 or 3. Pretty much they want you to have to grind more to complete the rift, or hopefully not complete it from playing so you buy the remainibg tiers or atleast don't earn back the $10 for the premium track.

I did challenges even saved some and I completed the rift like 2 weeks ago. Itd weird.

that is incorrect the shards from the previous tomes (not the levels of this one) would get you to about tier 60-63 depending on how many games it takes you to do the challenges. this one even with the challenge grind was about tier 55. pushing 15 tiers to pure grinding. I believe there are fewer master challenges and less lore (have not totally investigated). though your comment is correct in that 1/2 the shards to get you to the end are in survivor and the other half are in killer so you do have to do both sides otherwise you end up with a very large grind)

Really? I got to 70 without even doing all the challenges yet still missing like 4-5

you can get to 70 without doing a single challenge. you can skip them but it takes 800 exp to get one rift fragment, thus 10 fragments mean 8000 exp per TIER and 10 tiers are 80,000 exp 70 tiers is 560,000 exp. you can get a total of 600 exp in any one game plus a bonus of 300 exp for your first killer match of the day and 300 for your first survivor match of the day. so without the bonus you would have to play 933.333 games and GET MAX EXP each match without the tome challenges or the bonus for first killer or survivor match. that's a lot of matches, BUT that can be done within the first level of the tome depending on how many matches you play!

I just meant I was more surprised they didn’t get to 70 with all challenges done but I got it missing 5 challenges and I don’t play that much anymore due to it not being as fun a game anymore with them ignoring the big issues over small ones nowadays 😭

I completed the tome and hit tier 55. I don't play all that much so yea it's not the same previously as before i got to 60-63 upon the final tome completion.

I completed the Rift before I got all the challenges. Seriously, I'm missing most of the Killer challenges in Level 4 of the Tome.

Basically, just keep playing. That's it. Do the challenges in the meantime, but never stop playing.

You know what it’s probably cuz they did less master challenges before all 4 characters had atleast 2 master challenges per time now it was around 2 for 2 characters or something every other tome

Huh, first sentence you're saying im incorrect but the rest of the post saying im right :'D Get your ######### together.

When doing a challenge it doesnt count as a playtime !?

in the second part i was talking about only doing the survivor challenges gets you about 1/2 the rift shards the whole tome (levels 1-4) would give you. the killer side is the other 1/2. I never said the tome levels give you only 1/2 the shards of the whole rift which is what you had said.

fair, I did notice that some what but I can't say i'd have to really go look :)

Yeah I’m not on myself so I can’t really remember right how many each got but I believe it was less since one page would have some hag then wraith then hag etc instead of both

If I remember correctly someone did the math on this.

I think these were the numbers:

    • Tome 1: 340 rift fragments
    • Tome 2: 408 rift fragments
    • Tome 3: 392 rift fragments
    • Tome 4: 348 rift fragments

The numbers might not be exactly correct but they aren't far off this.

The "rift" grind has more or less been the same - it really depends on how many games people are finishing each challenge at too since people who have gotten better at finishing every challenge in a single game is also going to be "playing" less total time. I never really considered it a grind since the "rift" rewards are intentionally made in a way for people to no life the game for "cosmetics" - it's the entire premise of the Fortnite Battlepass system that tons of games have adopted. The auric cell "refund" is still there - the option has always been to "buy" the final few levels if you run out of time for those who have disposable income but not the time to play out the battlepass.

The Rift gives ZERO direct gameplay benefit and should be thought of as buying cosmetics from the store with conditions that you also have to play X amount of time. That time being "longer" is a non-issue in encouraging pure cosmetics/charms while keeping the playerbase playing more matches to prevent a "ghost town" downward slope.

I haven't seen it in this thread specifically (yet) but once again to people who think the Rift is a Pay-to-Win model that punishes players for not "no-lifing" the game need to think about an actual example of a pay-to-win situation such as all Licensed Perk teachables beinig completely removed from the Shrine because those actually directly influence gameplay options. This is still one of the more friendly Battlepass systems compared to something like Valorant which doesn't even give you the "free renew" option for completing an even more time consuming pass for $13 each time.

Increasing the progress from playing, pros and cons:

    Pro:

    • people can finish battlepass that they paid for and are happy

    Cons:

    • BHVR makes slightly less money due to not as many people buying progress

    Money > your happiness

I felt kinda the opposite. I reached 70 before level 4 had even come out yet.

I completed the rift about 2-3 weeks ago, but as I'm helping my friend now, it feels like it has taken forever to do. I don't know, it's weird. We're almost done with all of the challenges but are still on tier 58. I have no idea how I completed mine so fast.
