Exit Gates shadownerfed on PTB?
When you click on the exit gate to open it, even one second, a red light appears, but the 3 bars remain gray. That means you no longer can open the gate 20% without the killer noticing it (because the first bar of the gate doesn't transform in red). The killer will instantly know if you touch the exit gate and he looks in that direction.

Doesn't sound like a bad change.

not at all

Could use that to your advantage. Tap an exit gate and then book it to the other.

Not really when you have only 2 min and 30 sec
12 -
you can have more than 2.5 minutes. just complete the gens. no rush at that point.

I complained at first but this is the first one where I've reached level 70 before completeing even a quarter of the last page. I had been playing a fair amount, however.

It doesn't take you 2m30s to run from one door to another.
11 -
Are you assuming the killer is sleeping during that time?
12 -
Ok. The killer closes the hatch. 10 seconds to go to the gate (if you aren't already there). you touch it. you hope that the killer is far away. you start going to the other door, being careful. in the best case, if the killer doesn't play good, he will remain at the first door to search you or he will realise it's a bait and go to the second exit gate.

No.

That's why I love whispers :)

Whether you think it's good or bad, this is a significant change that should be in the patch notes.
But it's not.
Hopefully it's a bug, but it could very well be an intentional gameplay change that they just forgot/decided not to include on the patch notes.
9 -
Tbf there's a lot of more important things they left out of the notes.

This seems all to be under the assumption that the killer closed hatch before you managed to reach either door.
If you are talking about the last man standing scenario, the chance that the killer goes for the hatch or either doors is in itself equal as long as neither the survivor nor the killer found hatch prior to the 5th gen popping.
But the killer will mostly prioritice finding hatch, since the survivor can escape instantly, in which time they can tap one door and then go to the other. After that it is luck which door the killer will visit first.

I mean, Wake Up exists. But let's be honest. Whispers is pretty meta, so you likely aren't getting out much regardless.
6 -
Wow. That was pretty much the only way to get out when alone and the hatch was shut.
3 -
It does if you don't want to get seen and just chased into EGC death, since you won't be allowed to open any exits.

Huh?

This sounds fine if you start at a bad time you die if you bait it you could escape then you could bait the other one cutting it close also depending on the map but a lot of killers are map dependent so its fair

Honestly that is a big nerf... I do hope its a bug. Exit gates spawn very close to each other anymore... its basically death now.
Edit: It's basically death if you are the last survivor... since I didn't make that obvious Jill.

Do tell, please. I don't have access to the PTB.

A change to Saboteur, many visual effect changes, probably a bunch of others not coming to mind at 4 AM.

Not necessarily, no. Naturally, you aren't gonna straight-line it to the other Exit Gate, but you can make a run for it once you know the Killer has passed you to check on the Exit Gate that you tapped.

Can we be a little more clear on what this red light is? I'm not on the ptb. Where does it appear?
My perspective having played both killer and survivor (mostly survivor): the strategy of 20%ing one or both gates then waiting for a patrolling killer to walk away from one gate roughly garrantees escape for a lone survivor. I use it as a survivor and it works 3 out of 4 times. This should not be the case if the gens were not completed, in my opinion. I believe that the odds should be less than 50% that I escape if gens weren't finished.

You have obv not tried to go from one door to the other and then back again without being seen by the killer on any somewhat open map. It takes time. Which is why I hate the EGC. I'd much rather do the gens than have the stupid timer above my head saying, "hurry up! the devs can't balance the game to make killer-survivor interaction happen because of the killer when the survivor is hiding at the end of the game, so we're just going to kill you after a really short time, reward people who are super aggressive while punishing people who enjoy the planning aspect, make it more stressful for killers at times who are looking to secure a final kill, and call it a day. We did a pretty good job!"
One amazing game I had was before EGC when I was trying for the left behind achievement and had four gens to go against Huntress on Wrecker's Yard. I kept doing gens, she kept trying to find me (eventually found me), but the important thing in that case was that I was always progressing the game and giving the killer information on whereabouts I generally was. That's the kind of gameplay I like for the final survivor, not this stupid EGC hatch-closing stuff. Hatch closing on its own (I liked the idea that gens reopened it) is fine. The EGC is not.

I've successfully baited an escape before with the 'ol switcheroo. It's not something that happens often at all (nor is it meant to be), but it is possible.
