Why is the grab bug still around?
Just happened to me like 3 times in a singe game.Survivor goes for the reascue,I grab him but nothing happens.The animation stops mid grab and survivor gets safely unhooked making you miss 1 down and 1 hooked survivor,even worse is that you cant even get the m1,you got absolutely nothing back for catching a survivor off guard.This is really annoying and can easily ruing your game,please fix.

I had a weird one yesterday when grabbing a Feng. I got stuck for 2 seconds and she ran off and used Dance with me/Lithe through a window. Wanted to die.

At this point, I would have to assume they can't. It's been here since dedicated servers.

Has anyone experienced it during the Hit Validation tests? I wasn't playing during them to see if that fixed the issue

It's a killer bug so they'll consider fixing it in 2030.

Is it not a ping related issue? I myself have gotten grabbed off gens/unhooking survivors when I have clearly reacted in time to let go before I get grabbed and I've always attributed it to laggy/high ping killers.

Because grabbing is the only "hit" mechanic that is based on the survivors perspective.
All other hits are registered from the killer's point of view.

It's incredible to me that a survivor would even be able to escape Micheals Jupiter sized hands to begin with.

Pretty much,who cares you're put in a huge disatvantage in the end as a killer,its all about dem survivors,like BHVR proven even with the latest update.

There was one time I grabbed someone from rescuing, and the person got rescued off the hook still.

I'd be interested to know how the Hit Validation Test affected this and if anyone noticed that it was improved at all?
I do believe the issue is connected to the servers and more importantly the players connection to the server itself.

This is a latency issue, and it's not part of Hit Validation which is entirely for melee hits. We're aware of the issue, and are looking for ways to address it.

This game gonna be great when matchmaking,mmr system will be implemented and this bug along with ds is fixed.

If you know this is a problem then why make killers try to complete grabs for archive challenges?

Knowing and caring are two entirely different things. This is similar to the sounds that have broken for a year. They know, just don’t give a $%!+

survivors get hit through pallets/windows, and killers get stuck during grabs. Just DBD things.

Must be some nasty latency. I've been stuck in the grab for over a full second, in which the survivor casually ran away. At this point I just spam M1 during a grab and hope they're still in range for the normal hit.
My ping and the ping of the people I'm playing against has never been anywhere near 1000ms, let alone over it, so the super long grabs getting stuck is really bizarre.

Maybe it wasn´t possible to resolve the issue on schedule due to unforseen circumstances/ more urgent issues that had risen?

Yes, this is very annoying, you wanna know what happened earlier? Yeah I was unhooking someone and the bar was full, 100% but the killer grabbed me and my teammate didnt get unhooked

I'd agree with you if multiple Tomes didn't have grab challenges (including a challenge that required two gen grabs in a single game). Do the devs just not care that they're creating so many challenges relying on a broken mechanic? Are the Tomes some kind of testing ground for broken mechanics like grabs?

Grabs became impossible as soon as game migrated to dedicated servers(with exception of survivor just not paying attention).
It looks very similar to occasional situation of LF cancelling out of his chainsaw because he approached the pallet with wrong direction. As in grab gets cancelled.
The issue with killer locked in the animation is also a thing abused by people hacking at the game. It seems grab or pickup NEVER happens unless survivor is sitting on top of the server.

Its a killer bug and killer only represent 20% of the game played so its not a priority for the dev its sad but that how the game work
