Random Question of the Week: Is Dying Light Good?

I've started using it my Myers build with good results. Overall, I think it's a solid b tier perk.

What about you? What do you think of Dying Light?

I think it has a massive downside for what it offers, the perk will not help you win but only help you win harder if you understand what i mean. The games you win with the perk, you win also without the perk, so it is not a good perk in my opinion.

Probably not. It does little when you need it i.e early game with 4 survivors, and will be at its strongest late game when you might only have 2 survivors left.

It's a snowball perk with a meta game of keeping the Obsession distracted from helping put their teammates. The healing buff can be worked around if you have a power or perk that exposes or breaks them.

Can also dynamically shift around if you're using Nemesis or get DS'd which frees you up to start hooking that person that used to have immunity.

It's worthless. It literally buffs survivor with the healing speed. There is no upside to this perk.

If you're in bad position where you lose 2 gens for 1 hook, it doesn't help you. By the time you got decent tokens, gens are done, so the debuff does nothing.

If you're in good position, you won't even need this perk because you're winning. The perk does nothing to make you in this winning position.

Not to mention obsession is not under its effect, and hooking him does not grand totem, and he has healing buff. Pop has similar requirements to use, and it's 1000 times better than DL.

The edit should clear things up.

I've only used this perk on Myers so far.

Lets say 4 survivors equal to 400 power.

Max use of the perk: 6 hooks on 3 non-obsession survivors to get 24 debuff on those 3 = 328 power.

Simple way to play: 3 hooks on a single survivor = 300 power

    That perk is madly bad.

Old DL is just a tunneling perk. Current DL is useless.

My idea for the perk: If Killer hook a non-obsession, perk gain 1 token. Hook 4 non obsession to gain maximum 4 tokens (because obsession can be swapped mid game).

If obsession dies, the Perk's tokens activated, each token Killer earn will cause all non-obsession to get 8% debuff on everything (Maximum of 36% debuff)

If obsession is swapped to another living Survivor (DS, Nemesis...), the Perk's token deactivated, requires to kill the new obsession to make tokens activate again.

    Obsession get 50% healing speed.

=> This force Killer to at least hook other 3 Survivors before actually tunneling the obsession

I love the idea of the perk (getting rewarded for your performance).

    However:

    - hooking the obsession doesn't grant you stacks.

    - the obsession is not affected by your stacks.

    - the obsession gets a 33% altruism action speed bonus.

    - and if said obsession dies the perk gets disabled.

That's A LOT OF downsides considering it only slows down 3 out of 4 survivors by a lousy 3% per stack.

Soooo one could say the perk is pretty interesting but certainly not A tier - at least not in my opinion.

Not a fan of it. as it counters my playstyle of spreading damage

The buff you are giving to survivors is pretty big.

And in return you get a little action speed reduction but not on the obsession. which means that if you are chasing a non-obsession only 2 survivors are affected by it.

It can come in clutch in a 3gen but tbh you're better of using perks that help you apply pressure rather then a slowdown perk that will more likely then not only affect 2 survivors and reduce your pressure by buffing the obsession
