Custom Game Customization
On the topic of gamemodes, we have seen a lot of discussion about a 2v8 mode for killer vs survivor. The most common issue that crops up is balancing but custom games can avoid that problem by dodging the general cue.
For example, look at a Call of Duty game such as Blackops (the original). In custom games the 11 kill streak could be earned at 1 kill, certain classes could move at 30% speed or 200%, and there was a modifier for every asset of the game. Needless to say, people got really creative with this. Modders in other games paved the way for new modes in future installments, i.e prophunt, Micheal myers, etc.
So in custom games, why not give the players this creative freedom? Let the lobby host choose: movement speed of survivors and killers; the amount of pallets, gens, totems and exit gates; the amount of hits survivors can take; the maximum number of survivors and killers, or the killer to survivor ratio; and be able to change the killer and/or survivors win condition and if in game voice chat is allowed (just to name a few).
If it’s in custom game, what’s the downside?

While there is no actual problem with the design philosophy itself. It would be a complete and utter wreck for the devs to try to implement something as complex as that in our lovable spaghetti code.

As cool as it would be to have more customization for custom games, the problem for it would be the development time. There would probably be a lot of bugs and along with that they would have to make new UI and other things for KYF. Doing all of that would take time away from balancing the game and fixing bugs.

I think custom game mode should have more options. I think it'd be fun with friends to be able to have multiple killers. Or have there be extra gens, perks, etc. Only have one exit gate. Just whole bunch of options for friends to play with.

This would be an amazing idea that could open up endless amounts of creativity for players and the devs.
But pessimistically I know this will never happen sadly.
