Scream Caused By Infectious Fright
I'm not sure anymore, I haven't used Infectious Fright in ages, but today I took it back to action.
Is there some bug in survivor's scream sound? Feels like I barely hear anyone screaming when I down someone, although I see scream bubbles around me. Is it because they are too far from me? Did they change the scream sound volume radius? It just doesn't feel the same anymore...
and no, I'm not using IF on Oni, but on Myers.
Thanks.

It's based on Terror Radius. Unless you're doing something like T3 with M&A, then you aren't going to have much of a radius for it to happen.
As for volumes, I never use IF so I can't say.

I'm in T3 and I have Terror Radius, obviously, but thanks.

Are any of them using Calm Spirit? Because that's the only thing I can think of since Billy/Oni with Infectious and Doc are decently popular, and I for one am sick to death of chain instant-downs to a 4 man slug at 4 or 5 generators left.
Calm Spirit does negate screaming but the notifications might still go ahead.

Does it though? I thought calm spirit completely counters infectious and doctor's static in terms of revealing position.

According to the people on this forum, if you're all slugged at 4 or 5 gens, you're just bad. I disagree with them.

It should totally counter it, yeah.

Isn't it bugged?
You barely notice as killer, because scream 'bubbles' work normally, but playing as Survivor, it's weird.
If you scream because of Infectious, the character has the scream animation for like... 0.5 seconds? Something like that. You barely notice you got hit by Infectious.
Or was this fixed in last few patches? Haven't played as/against Infectious in a while.

Pffft. I dunno. I just know it has a chance to negate screaming. The only Jake perk I really care about these days is Iron Will because that perk decent!
Oh, yeah. I'm bad because my teammate fed a killer with an instant down.
They've also called me bad for pointing out that Billy running around RISK FREE was bad for the game. Overheat was added a few months later. But no. I'm the bad one, right?
It's good to see that I'm not the only one who goes against the mob mentality.

I don't like the overheat mechanic as is. It punishes him for using his power. The fact that there's add-ons to make the overheat less shows that it's a problem mechanic. It's supposed to stop people from holding it down indefinitely as they're trying to line up a curve or something. It ends up hurting you even when you simply chainsaw sprint once or twice and then try to down a survivor with it.

As far as I know, Calm Spirit counters IF completely, according to some resources, to my experience and

I never ever even thought that IF would show bubble if survivor has Calm Spirit, because it sounds stupid.

Well, depends. My experience is that altruism leads to this scenario. If you notice this is going to happen, just don't heal the slugs but get out of TR and do gens, unless you know you are the only survivor left in TR or until the killer starts picking up. But normally I am the only one doing this and depending on luck only saving half of the games with this strat
