Dude chill, Gens before Friends is a very strong tactic most of the time. Nobady will let you die on hook but you have to understand as long as the Killer don't chase someone he will Tunnel you no matter what because after his first hook two Gens alredy done, so we can make the other 3 Gens AND still save you.

Let me guess in your game 2 Gens alredy poped when the Killer hooked you right?

I always try to make sure that I make the save when someone is in Stage 1, even if it the killer is camping. There's nothing to lose, they'll get BT from me and they also might have DStrike, plus I always take a hit to try to protect someone. (if killer is camping I will wait for as long as possible, just in case and do it at the very end of Stage 1)

Worst case scenario they go down and back on the hook and they will be in Stage 2 - same as they would have been if I hadn't had saved them, but at least they had a chance.

not in every situation. Ive got a game were we all let us go into the 2nd stage to push the gens and 3 of us got out. It was a solo game, a pretty weird one. But it worked. I was the first one, then I was angry and let the other ones going into the 2nd stage and so on.

So it's not always a bad thing. It depends on the result of the match. If 2 got out it was at least worth it even if you're the hero of the story. And you know, heros die.

Nothing worse then watching 3 a-holes work on the same generator while you're hanging on the hook, but they all want the points for healing you.

Its kinda tactical though as you weakenbyour opponents/teammates as a consequence. After all, those that player solo are supposed to escape at all costs. If you can get others out, its a bonus.

Yes, but in some cases it's better to leave them there than to sit around a rock watching the Killer go back and forth from the hook. Usually when this happens it can result in a even bigger loss of the team if they slug the freshly downed Survivor but keep the other one on the hook.

But that's if we're saying the Killer is camping, which is kinda why the question was brought up in the first place. Sometimes though the Killer isn't camping and the team just isn't immediately running there because nobody is hit to indicate the Killer is somewhere else. So by that logic, they have no idea if they're camping or if the Killer is somewhere else. That usually results in a scenario where the Killer was camping and the rescuer gets hit, or he wasn't and a lot of time was wasted being cautious.

Of course the poster means just doing gens rather than helping someone, not face campers and insidious killers-- But you should still risk saving them if it means they will be distracted for a moment. Also, if you have kindred on and see the killer leave but stay at a gen when you can see others doing the same, one of you needs to go help. It's the point of the game, not just gen rushing.

Your 2nd paragraph is why I bring Kindred. I know and my teammates know what's going on with the killer and the other survivors. It's even good when I want to know where the killer is going or possibly going after they hook someone. It gives a lot if vital information. It's just an excellent perk.

I have to agree with many here that every situation is unique (from killers stalking the hook, etc etc)- that being said - I totally feel you.

More often than not there is NO reason to let a teammate get to phase two. It's one of the multiple reasons why I will suicide. It's frustrating. Especially if you are wearing kindred and you are hanging there thinking WTAF. (What the actual F...)

If I go to second phase early on in the game because my teammates can't be bothered - then I can't be bothered. I say goodbye to that game. The other reason is if I'm in second phase because of a camping killer. Yup - see ya. No point in playing. (or should I say "trying" to play. That's more accurate.

    My logic is fairly simply:

Situation one: Teammates can't be bothered - time to move on to another game. Especially if I see them finally decide maybe they should and I'm two seconds away from second phase and they know, and I know the killer's is right there. I'll end up hooked a second time and possibly the other teammate. (Usually just me though.)

Situation two: Killer won't leave the hook area. Why on earth would I allow myself to be saved only to be put right back on the hook again. IMHO that's rewarding a killer for what I personally feel is bad sportsmanship. Chances are if they let me play they'd get a couple of hooks out of me and more points but at least it would have been a fun game.

In both cases it's a miserable game for me and all I've done is given people BP they don't deserve. Time to move on to another game really.

    I feel ya.

My only caution here is don't Kobe right away - give your teammates a chance to try for you.

Some people don't use it at all in favor of other perks, but whenever that perk is brought up a lot of people say it should be base-kit anyways. Which of course is arguable and needs a lot more discussion on if it's even fair or not. Of course you (as an example) might think it's fair, but others might bring up a point as to why it's not.

All in all, Kindred is great for issues like this, but it isn't a general fix to the issue.

That last line is precisely the issue... it's not fixable. It kinda is-what-it-is if you know what I mean?

For all the discussions of frustrations with the game, many are not fixable as they are behavior based. We can't change how players behave. We can only react / chose how we are going to behave in kind.

I sympathize with posts like the OP's as it's disheartening and frustrating. All we can do is move on to the next game and hope we get actual teammates and people who want to have fun together.

I feel your pain buddy. That's why I usually run slippery meat with up the ante. At least I can unhook myself sometimes than dying usually on my first hook ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Agreed. Especially when that person when down in the first place to keep you from being tunneled. Not that that happened to me or anything today. But it was on the new Autohaven so I was happy to die. I get left to die on my first hook a lot as a solo survivor. I could understand against a camping Bubba or Billy but when it's a Wraith or Myers you know doesn't have perma tier 3, good god, make a freaking save.
