When are DC penalties coming back?

Does anyone else really find the DCs to be ruining the game? I have barely played survivor in 4 months. It started with the MMR being botched and me being sent with rank 20's to go face rank 1 killers, and now it's like maybe every 1/3 or 1/4 game someone DC's in the first minute because they went down too fast. As killer, the SWFs just mass DC if they don't like your mori (even though they will bring a key and 12+ second chance perks). Or maybe they just mass DC if they don't like the killer you are playing. DCs for hatch are extremely commonplace.

It almost feels a bit pointless to play the add-on hungry killers currently, just because you will sink a lot of points into a match that will never be played. It is also extremely annoying that I cannot switch my killer to deal with SWFs but they can all quick swap to items at 6 seconds still. I've just been running franklins hag since she is so cheap to play.

It's worth noting, you're right... DC Penalties don't exist. And for some reason, people think the stupidity of "slotting toxic items or running 4 Blendettes at the last second" is infallible.

All Killer has to do is Alt+F4 before you load and the match still gets cancelled.

Moral of the story: if you're gonna be a toxic SWF who clearly have no interest in the killer having some fun too... just be upfront about it. Sure, a few might swipe left, but if they stay you know they either want a real challenge, in which case you might have a great match... or they are so oblivious that they'll be an even more fun tormenting target than most would be.

Here's my last 3 matches. First one was a SWF mass DCing after doing a 6 second key swap, and they DC'd after I camped the key to death. The other two were people DCing at 4-5 gens left from going down too fast. I depipped from rank 1 due to a mass DC earlier and have not been able to even get it back because literally almost every game has a DC.

It seems like the higher the rank the more likely the DC.

Yeah it seems every few games I have at least one person who DC's. I really hope the devs pay attention to post game reports. I've been reporting all of em for being Unsportsmanlike.

In my experience, the DC's haven't quite reached "epidemic" levels like it did between March-July 2019, wherein the average player experienced 1+ players DCing every 9 out of 10 games, but it has been ramping up. I'd say for me currently it's around 6 out of 10 games that I get at least 1+ DC's regardless of the role I play, and while that's still very bad, at least I'm still getting full matches. Either way, the same pattern is emerging and the DC rate is escalating since in September the rate was around 3 out of 10 games, so I'm expecting "Epidemic" levels to begin around the end of this month or early November, and at that point, just like before, the game won't be worth playing at all since no one will be able to play a full match.

If they don't fix the hacking issue with the DC penalty system and reintroduce it by then, this game is going to start dying rapidly, and they know it, so here's hoping they are working hard on getting the fix done and we'll have DC penalties back before it hits "Epidemic" levels again. Literally the only thing that stopped the epidemic last time was a massive ban wave by the devs in July 2019 which showed the habitual DC'ers that there are consequences, but it still took them until December 2019 to roll out the automatic penalty system, so if they can't fix the issue before the end of the month, they should at least consider hitting the community with another ban wave to buy some time and quash the problem before it gets a chance to reach "Epidemic" levels again. At least that way, they'd be showing that they still care about the game's health and re-affirm our faith in them.
