Deliverance not working during collapse?

So, simple question: Does Deliverance not work during the endgame collapse? I've only recently started playing with that perk and it was the perfect set up: The killer was about to hook me right in front of the open gate and Deliverance was active. If he'd looked away for a second I could have pulled myself off the hook and had a real chance to get away... but instead I was instantly sacrificed. :/ And, yes, I was the sole survivor at that point.

    You can't attempt an unhook anymore if you're the last survivor. The game just kills you there. If someone else was there and still alive off the hook you could have used the perk.
