Anyone else have this issue?

Why is it that when in a game and I lose connection to the host I get a ban like what is that I'd understand if I deliberately quit but I don't and it's getting on my nerves having to wait for my next game because of someone else's lag

You don’t lose connection because of someone else’s lag though, it must be your connection that failed there.

also you could easily circumvent the penalty by just faking a loss of connection by turning of your router for example, so either there must be a penalty for every DC or none, it can’t be consistently seen how the DC occured

Normally I'd agree with you but I had someone on another Xbox and TV in the same house using my same connection and his was fine and everyone else on the match lost connection too dunno maybe it was just a one time silly thing but really annoyed me that I don't DC and I got a ban but suppose you have a point about people abusing the disconnection

I'm about 75% sure that xBox users don't get a penalty for DCs because they're not on dedicated servers. That might have been it.

And, I'm having that issue, too, btw. My router is crap (new one is ordered) and I live in a region of Germany where the internet isn't particularly reliable. I've got disconnect twice in 24 hours without any fault of my own and suddenly had a 15 minute or so ban. I've put the game on the shelf for now, because I know as long as I don't get a new router the problem will continue to exist and I have no idea how much worse these penalties might get.
