The game is no longer fun to play
I started playing Dead by Daylight only last year in August. Since then I've easily played it almost everyday for at least a few hours because I liked playing and learning new things in it until this September. I played the new Chapter of course, figuring out the Blight and playing against it. But then October rolled around and I've lost basically all motivation I have for the game.
I can't pinpoint exact reasons but I'll try my best. I launched the game today for the first time in about a week and a half and I played five games. In the first one I was completely and honestly tunneled by a forever Freddy which is boring enough already in itself. Second one I got basement camped in by a Nurse and in third one I got left to die on first hook by extremely immersed teammates. I decided that I'd play two more and if I had one in either of those I'd go for one more and so on. I did not have fun. I got first hook moried in both of them. I feel like rank reset especially has encouraged this kind of behaviour because getting kills and hooks is basically the biggest thing in ranking up. I can't remember games being this bad in a hot while. It might just be me though.
I've tried my best in making the game fun for myself, doing different kind of challenges and perk wheels, using my favorite perks etc., anything to differ myself from the "meta" or whatever you like to call it. It hardly works because the games turn unfun because of the other player's actions and decisions. I can't control them of course but I feel like if the community in itself was "less toxic" for the lack of a better term it could make the game better so to say.
I don't wish to completely abandon the game because I enjoy the concept and the game mechanics for the most part and the variety in gameplay in the form of killers and playstyles. If anyone's had this problem before please feel free to share some tips or otherwise just discuss this whole thing. I would also like to hear counterarguments or just anything relating to this even a little. Meanwhile I'll be uninstalling and playing something wholesome lol
