The Halloween "Event"
So before I go on a rant about this in the next video I just wanted to make sure that I got all the information correct.

The event activities are themed Archive challenges.
The Blight event itself is the same as previous events where there is a slight bloodpoint boost through the use of special offerings that create extra blighted hooks and generators that award the extra points.
The new blighted cosmetic is for David King through the paid battlepass.
I'm unsure where the True Blight cosmetic is earned from. I'm assuming that it's bought with auric cells for now.
There will be a single event charm available through a login bonus with 3 more event charms available through the code redemption system.
The event will last for about 2 weeks from Oct 21 - Nov 3.
The event items will return along with a different flashlight and an addon for killers.

Oct. 21st, not October 23rd. But yeah, the rest is correct (from what is known so far, including third party sources).
Last year I said that I think it is bad that the Event Currency is in the Rift. Wouldnt expect that it got even worse.
(IF there will be event currency earned via playing or the Rift, it would be better of course... But if not...meh)

Not so much missing publicly available info as much as the publicly available info is likely full of holes.
Given how questionable the information from Dataminers has been as of late (how many times now have they said "Okay it's Candyman FOR SURE this time"?) there's probably some things we're missing.
I personally think it's unlikely that a Hallowed Blight event would release a "True Blight" cosmetic that is only purchasable by AC. It'd likely either be purchased through Serum (would require the Dataminers to miss a currency on the price tag, but they did that before when they missed the Iri Shard price tag for Blight and predicted him to be Candyman) or unlocked as a part of the Rift (same as the Hallowed Blight Nurse).
Either one of those would be acceptable, honestly.
If it's Serum, it's basically a free cosmetic that can be bought as AC at a later date if you pick something else.
If it's Rift, it's not free, but if you've already bought a prior Rift it's damn good value, since every Rift contains about 4 skins that I care about (which would likely go for about 5 bucks a pop in a game like League), this is Rift no. 4 (I think), and each time you buy a Rift and complete it you end up getting back all the shards you spent.
It also coincides with a sizable balance patch, which is nice.

I would also like clarification on something else they mentioned: From my understanding, there are Archive challenges that will require interacting with Pustula plants/hooks, but since the event only lasts for 2 weeks, and thus the Pustula Petals offering will be then be disabled, does that not lock those challenges out "permanently" (or at least until the next Halloween event)?

This is NOT an event...atleast respawn has a reason to why there events have purchasable cosmetics cause the game is FREE

The plants will only spawn if someone has the challenge activated as far as I have understood it.
So if no one has the challenge selected, there will not be a plant and they were talking about how this is a new form of challenge that they might look further into independent of Blight event..

Interesting, I didn't interpret it that way, but that sounds plausible as well. I'd be curious if there might be some issues with someone never completing that challenge and always generating the flowers.... or if they make a different kind of challenge of that nature, would it spawn both types of special interactables if two people have 2 different challenges?

I can tell that they got greedy, they weren't like that last year, I'm starting to believe they don't know that if there is a reason to play people will play more, archives isn't enough, more people would play if their "start" wasn't so harsh.
I feel like I will get dissapointed this event....

You could but the only problem with doing that is assumptions you might make in that video based on the current information might become obsolete by the time the event comes out.

Smll boost? The last halloween events were like 4k BP for a finished event gen. That was mostly more than a party streamer offering per game

I was looking at the overwatch event and I liked how you could unlock a new skin by completing a weekly event based on that character.

Ungrateful?
The event they gave us 2 years ago was a lot of fun. Dumb yes but fun all the same. They even gave us 2 sets of cosmetics rather than the intended 1 to appease fans who felt a little disappointed by the prizes.
Fast forward 2 years and now we get....a rift. Yay another rift. With its repetitive and grindy challenges.
Its easy to slap out a rift than to create a good event and more importantly it makes more money. There’s no money in having good events.
Pay for some boring grindy missions and pay to unlock new costumes.
The direction this game has been going is not good. Its like they’re so scared of the company being a 1 hit wonder they’re milking DBD for all they can get.

Your last sentence is really what I think is going on. This is especially noticeable when we look at Deathgarden and there aren't many more "good" licenses left to get in my opinion which means they're left to their own creativity with new killers if this game lasts for a few more years.

I played on ps4 last event and pretty much every event since the bbq event(since I started), I rarely saw any bps during the last halloween event, I moved to pc on the covid 1.5x bonus so I'm not sure how often pc survivors put bps during the halloween event.

There was an add-on for survivor's medkit as well. It was called refined serum and it moderately increases the speed of the survivor for 20 seconds.

I called this all the way back when 2.0.0 and the cosmetic store launched.
$10 for a cosmetic is absolutely insane, but I accepted it at first because it probably wasn’t cheap to make all those cosmetics and release them in a big patch like 2.0.0. But as time went on, the devs realized that people would eat up anything they threw at them, so they continued with the overpriced cosmetics and then introduced the Rift and Archives with their repetitive and grindy (and sometimes just straight BS) challenges. The lore is cool and it’s nice to have another way to earn BP, but they had to lock cosmetics and charms behind them and your only other option is to spend money. Now I only buy cosmetics if they’re actually worth it instead of just buying whatever. I wouldn’t be surprised if BHVR becomes the next Activision in 2021 or 2022. It’s sad, but not very surprising.

Well, I was not talking about the bps in general, just to compare. Each special gen gave 4k extra BP and each hook I think 2k
Meaning each side got round about 8-12k extra BP per match. So that's not what I would call a small bost. The 4th year anniversary was small, where you only got 500 for collecting and whatever for escaping on top, which was not the case every game. But gen BP you also got while dying on hook for example. We were like "nah, just finish the event gen before I die"

You completely missed the point that the OP was making. He wasn't complaining about what was being given, but HOW it was being given. Maybe next time read through the post a few times before jumping down someone's throat with a knee-jerk reaction.

Points 1, 2, 5 and 6 are correct. Points 3 and 7 are partially correct.
There will be a new cosmetic for David on the paid track of the Rift, but they confirmed that there will also be other blighted cosmetics available that haven't been revealed yet. I'm not sure why you would assume that auric cells will be the primary or only method for obtaining the event cosmetics, unless I misinterpreted what you said. There's certainly no precedent for it - every other Halloween event so far has offered a means by which to get at least one or two event outfits for free.
Also, there is no new flashlight, just the normal Halloween one and the medkit, but there will be new event add-ons for medkits and flashlights. The "Broken Bulb" they showed on stream was just an example of one of those.

I actually miss the year we got the plants! I thought that was really fun and of course the Chinese New Year event with the lanterns was great. I wish they would just bring back those events every year to change it up. I'm so bored of the Archives.

This is true, but at least DBD has regular content atm. There hasn't been any non-skin content for OW in like 7 months. And before that, it was 6 months. It used to get new content in the same week as DBD did, every 3 months.

I dont miss anything, people are complaining that they get free stuff and sutff you CAN buy. Its optional. Why would anybody complain about skins that cost money? Makes no sense to me.
I know... this is the forum, where the top 1% complainers are summond (including me complaining about complainers) but do we really have to discuss about free stuff and a event which does not have to occure? Take the medkit, be happy and run and if you dont like it, leave it.

I mean what else do you want to do unless you want them to go back to people doing the most scummy stuff possible to get serum and then suiciding on hook once they got what they need
