Have the Devs secretly reintroduced MMR?

Today I've had either really bad survivor teammates or really bad killers. The poor killers have absolutely no idea what they're doing wondering around hopelessly searching for survivors, whilst survivors don't look behind them in chases and die within seconds once found. However, it seems to be either the killer that is bad and my team is decent or vice versa.

I'm rank 1 and have had a rank 19 in my game today. Please fix.

    This seems to be a result of long queues on the survivors side.

    Essentially, matchmaking looks for players with a base range depending on your rank (e.g., making this up, but let's say it's +- 4 ranks of you. If you are rank 3, then your base range will be 1-7). For every X amount of time, it will increase that range if it can't find players within that range.

    When queues take too long, the range expands really far, and it will essentially match you with anybody. Since survivor queues are really long compared to killer queues right now, you will get matched against the first killer / survivors that can be found.

    I've been thinking that too. That MMR was secretly back on but I didn't want to be the 1st to say it.

    Since the update my survivor queues have been 2-3x as long compared to before so I also thought maybe they were testing MMR again. Haven't noticed being with particularly good or bad survivors/killers.

    I think so too. As killer I only got really really good survivors for the last week and barely any potatoes which made me a little bit sceptical what was going on.

    Players have been debunking MMR being back as a myth since devs haven’t announced anything officially.

    They can add and subtract from DBD whenever they want without telling us anything. They never have to be completely transparent with any of us.

    I’m amazed at the naivety of players expecting devs to reveal everything they’re doing in-game, to the community, like they’re obligated or sth.

    I think they have. Every game as killer i'm getting survivors that pop 2-3 gens in 60 seconds like i was when MMR actually worked last time. I can't screw around anymore with the event and have to play every game full out.

    I think so too, yesterday I was getting matched against rank 15+ survivors, I'm rank 1 on both sides, but since I meme a lot when I play survivor I must have a trash ranking as survivor so they match me with low rank survivors.
