Autodidact skill checks?
So I’m not asking for a complete rework, as I love this perk how it is and I think it’s very underrated. The problem I have is with how inconsistent the skill checks are. I can go all game without getting any tokens as I just won’t get skill checks when healing people and then I’ll go to the next extreme and get 3 tokens off of one heal.
Will this perk ever get the the stage where you are guaranteed to get at LEAST one skill check per heal? Because as it stands there’s other healing perks (Botany Knowledge, We’ll Make It) that can be activated a lot easier.

And let go of DS, DH, SC etc? I doubt it lol. It’s rare to see people using healing builds as most people like builds that solely benefit them. I just want a little more consistency. I just had a match about 20 mins ago and I got 4 tokens from one heal at the start of the match. It’s just so random.

i once ran this against a unnerving presence doc and got tons of skill checks, also had empathy and the doc was just hitting people off gens so i just went to them healed them in seconds thanks to the increased skill check chance and we won by constantly being on gens.

If only it worked with medkits, would give me a reason to actually use Suture + Needle for a healing build.

It’s a really useful perk when you can get all 5 stacks. Plus, it’s so satisfying to see the healing bar just flying up. 😂

So I did a perk study on this perk and this was one of the things that I said would make the perk better! Imo though I would say make the regressing skill checks appear more frequently because last night when I was playing survivor I could not get past the first skillcheck for like 9 trials and I healed about 12 teammates!
The perk is underrated but I think it need to have a increased chance of trigger skill checks

The annoying part is getting those 5 stacks. No one wants to be healed by you before you get 3 lol

You should get a stack for finishing healing a survivor. So you always atleast get something

That’s similar to my experience with the perk. It’s one extreme or the other. I can have matches where I’ll get 4 stacks from healing one survivor and then I can have entire trials where I won’t get a single skill check when healing. As it stands, it’s far too inconsistent to be considered a viable perk. However, when it does work, it’s one of my favourites.

Why use that instead of any of the other meta perks? Just bring a ranger med kit with busted add ons and its the same thing
