Complete incompetency regarding OoO
We just got confirmation that object of obsession is not going to be nerfed. if this doesn't show that the devs don't actually understand how their game works, I don't know what does. Just because a perk has a low pick rate doesn't mean its bad. Object is not fair because it gives the team free information when used with a SWF team. The reason why it has a low pick rate is because only 1 person needs to run it in order for it to be effective. These devs seriously need to take a look at how their game plays, I feel like they're all fools at this point. (except for Mathieu, he's cool)

I´d find it incredibly hard to believe that they think Object is fine. You´d have to be severely intellectually challenged to think that way, the DEVs aren´t that stupid, are they? No way.

New stats show, that the Clown is more lethal than the Huntress. So the upcoming Clown change might even be a nerf.

Apparently Nurse is a high skill cap killer. So they don´t take her low kill rate into account.

I´m just watching the stream. Ethan says they´re gonna leave it as-is. That´s it, I have lost all faith in this guys decision making abilities. Mindblowing, I can´t believe this guy. So it is confirmed, they are as intellectually challenged as I feared they would be. Omfg I think I´ll take a break, I got the first page done anyway.

I will hand it to Cote for saying perks should be looked at even if stats say they're fine because stats don't show how someone feels playing against a perk. Just because players don't escape much with it doesn't mean it's not crappy to play against.

thats exactly why im ok with him. i dont think its his decision to change object but im glad he at least brought that up. i just can't believe that after all the complaints that they still think OoO is an ok perk. the fact that they didnt mention DS raises my concerns too.

yeah, that's what I found a bit unsettling about that segment:
Cote, in response to Ethan's "people say OoO is OP, but stats tell me otherwise" said "...well, sometimes perks need to be looked at if they are not fun to go against".
And Ethan, totally unreceptive to the comment, shook it off with a "yeah, when I find an OoO tbagging I just leave him, it's not upsetting at all".
Even assuming that he's a good killer and he's facing good swf with OoO (and I'm being extremely lenient here), it still shows a complete lack of empathy.
I still need to find a killer happy (or even unimpressed) when they see an OoO when the game starts.

If there is any incompetency it is not buffing survivors so they have a reasonable chance of escaping.

I agree that it should be nerfed and that the devs don't seem to understand why its not good for the game, but they said on average it doesnt increase winrate by much not that it has low playrate.

Yeah, the unreceptiveness of Ethan wasn't great. Why I really appreciated Cote speaking up and saying something. I'm glad Cote will point out that there's more that just escape/sacrifice to consider because escaping/sacrificing doesn't necessarily mean good time. It is worrying though that he even has to point that out.

The reason they probably think it’s fine is because there ARE already 2 counters: Undetectable & Blindness. It’s just that those options are limited or not very viable.

What devs and streamers don't seem to understand is that there's a way their community plays the game when they are playing and there's a way the community plays the games when they are not looking.
Object abuse, ds abuse, full timer slugging, mori targeting, teaming/farming. This stuff happens and it's very effective.

Thats sad :(. Once I played against an OoO + tbag team , as hag. Did I kill all four? Yes. Did I have fun? Absolutely not, it was a very frustrating match. They should understand there is a huge difference between winning and having fun.

I really wish the devs realized statistics are almost meaningless when you have a game with this many variables. By that logic, Nurse is the worst killer in the game.

yes, that was him. he says he plays the game a lot but thats either a clear lie, or he plays but hes so bad that he cant get past green ranks. clown is good against babies who have never played the game before, but so is any killer. he honestly needs a reality check how his game works, either that or he needs to be replaced. he clearly can't do his job properly.

Not really surprised; that the Devs find the Stats more appealing more, then the Community Feedback! Like all they got to do, is not listen to their guts and let the people speak in action! Like..... Quit thinking about buffing weak perks, instead of doing anything about nerfing and reworking meta perks; when meta perks exists and occupied 90% of Red Rank Games! These perks literally overshadowed every other perks, just by being too darn powerful useful and never let the players down!
There is more good reasons OLD Hex: Ruin was Meta Killer perk; it band-aid fix the Dev's decision to not give Survivor 2nd objective and making the overall game get done way too quickly (Genrushing) before the killer can effectively get all 12 hooks! It just not possible to do; unless you run that perk; back in the old days! Now, more powerful killer perks are losing their edge and becoming Dull or slightly weaker strong perks; while completely ignoring the strongest Survivor Meta perks that still plagued this game! Adrenaline, DS, Any Exhaustion Perks (Sprint Burst or Dead Hard), Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, and of course Object of Obsession!
These perks make playing as killer very frustrating and hard to play; when going for a 4k, 12 hooked, gen defender "Perfect Game" as the devs intended! I would not be surprised if they played more Survivor sided, and not bother playing as much killer, beside Testing; and be like... "This killer is too powerful, we might need to slightly tweak them, to be more fun for us Survivors"
Ranting about the Devs; because I just simple cannot stand their priorities choice and ignorance towards the health of the game and the community! I believe in them, but this update on PS4 is not helping me!
Devs should just simply listen to the community more carefully and discover the root of the problem; and simple take their feedback and fix it; instead of redefining it to their own appeal of what the game/perks should be!
As Killer main with occasional Survivor, I expect Killers to be the powerhouse Obstacle until the very end; especially against a competent Survivor team whom stand together and overcome the threat! Dead By Daylight should not be entire one sided, especially on the Survivors side; as it would make the killer feel like a pushover laughing stock and not a legit threat! Keys and Mori are not fun, Bad maps like Haddonfield and Osmond Resort need massive reworks, and perks like Object of Obsession are not there for the purpose of High Risk and High Reward!
It is used by very effective Competitive Survivor in their SWF team, to call out the Killer's positions all the time, and make any elements of surprise complete obsolete! Playing as Trapper, forget about it; are you a stealth killer; they would make eaay educated guess on whom you are since there are not many stealth killers! Survivors outside of Red Ranks and SWF, would tend to avoid using this perk for the fact that it draws tunneling killers! No benefit from it, if you are not good at the game and die quicker because of it! OoO exist to simple give SWF a free exploitable perk mechanic to ruined the Killer's ability to ambush and effectively used their power to win! Does that sound like a "Perfect Game" to you, Devs?

When you look at the game in the macro it's so easy to dismiss things like kill rate of killers or broken items/perks. Like what he said: "oh when I see an OoO teabagging me then I just ignore it" just feels super anecdotal to me. I haven't gone up against an OoO player who does stuff like that in like a year when I was maybe 100-200 hours into the game. It also shows a lack of understanding of OoO's pure game breaking abilities since going against a 3-4 man SWF with object the best strategy to counter it is to tunnel the Object of Obsession so that they can't give info to the team anymore. Yet even then that's a lose lose scenario because the Object is almost always the best looper of the team and they are given a huge warning when you're coming for them, allowing them to get into a good position and if you leave them alone they will just call out your position which no matter what kind of killer you are besides maybe Nurse, is a hard counter to you. The only way to directly counter is to use add ons and perks that inflict blindness like ClownisKing pointed out but as he pointed out because blindness is a almost never, EVER worth using a perk or add on slot for no one uses it except maybe Freddy's block add on but even then since you can't know if it's an object you'd have to bring it every game.
If Object wanted to be this incredibly high risk high reward perk for teams then it should reveal the killer like it does for survivor but Killer should be able to see Survivors at all times as well and continue to see them until maybe 16-28 meters away. When you have this much information to give a team then you should be incredibly vulnerable considering how powerful that is. Even then I wouldn't want this because for solo this perk would be completely useless and I don't like the idea of this perk at all. Compound 21 already showed that having omnipresent aura reading is something that shouldn't be a thing unless maybe for that one Plague add on.

Yeah man I hear you. you basically listed every problem i've got with object of obsession. almo seriously needs to read this, because he clearly doesn't understand how balance works. my question is how the hell did he manage to get on the balance team, lead alone become head of it?
