Why do mobile players get free shards and cell yet nobody else does?
So I have been playing dead by daylight for a while now yet just noticed that people on mobile get free shards and cells for doing challenges yet all of us on console and PC get bloodpoints that can be easily obtained. I think you should give us these challenges to get cosmetics, I think you guys did well with the event cosmetics but they cost a total of 9000 shards. That means hours of grinding for console yet about 1 hour for mobile. I think these challenges should be on console and pc.

The mobile market is way different than the PC market.
Mobile games look to prey on people with addictive tendencies or fear of losing out by giving them minimal amounts of premium currency which is just not enough to buy something of value to incentivize them to buy more currency for that new shiny item they want. Once they get the ball rolling mobile games can siphon unholy amounts out of some people, especially children.
PC games like DBD do it a little differently where they lure players in with a low base price to try and bait them into buying "just one little DLC" and then another, and then another, until they've payed the price of a $60 AAA game or more. If you want to see the pinnacle of predatory PC gaming look no further than EA or Payday 2 if you want an example of having way too much paid DLC.
Not to mention cosmetics, which are a whole other bag of exploitative practices preying on peer pressure. After all, who wants to be the only one in a SWF without a cool shirt or pair of sunglasses?

Yeah that's true I've seen it happen, I used to play payday 2 and it was a nightmare if we are talking DLC content. I had a friend who always wanted the DLCS, either way I get where you coming from about that I was just a little curious since they make these DLCS that the dbd fanbase love, my thoughts were thinking about that most of the mobile players were probably players on console and pc.

yeah, this ^
It's all about which predatory tactics work best while still keeping up appearances of being a good game.

I'm grateful I have the option on at least DbD Mobile, seeing as I already paid for everything licensed on PC. It just sucks they removed the option to earn shards and cells by watching ads. Man I made a lot of free currency before they removed that.
