Created an account just for this: maybe take a break?

All right, I'm a relatively new player. I've been lurking here and I've noticed something.

DBD players really like to complain. That's ok, there's currently a lot to complain about. The game is buggy, the Halloween event ain't great, and people can be toxic. Personally, I don't have too much issue with this stuff. I can have fun in pretty much any match I'm in. I play both Survivor and Killer. For killer I play Pig and Plague, for Survivor I like Tapp and Nancy.

I deal with toxic survivors and toxic killers. I've dealt with Forever Freddy's, Iri Head Huntresses, Moris, you name it. I've also dealt with OoO, DS, and some other annoying survivor perks. In the end, I chalk it up to a loss and move on. If I have a particularly bad couple of days, I move to a different game for a while and come back.

Look, if this game is really making you upset, the way I see it you have 3 options.

1. Take a break.

2. Try to be more optimistic.

3. Continue playing a game you do not enjoy, yelling and screaming at other players and the developers after every bad match.

I'ma just say it: "Survivors," are not toxic. "Killers," are not toxic. Players are toxic. No matter what, some players will always try to find a way to make a build that makes them win. Some people, like me, run off-meta perks or whatever I have to create my own playstyle, or aid the one I already have. Some people like the feeling of power they get from certain builds. You can't get mad at players for using builds that are possible within the game.

If you're mad at anyone, be mad at the devs, but even that's a waste of time and energy. In the end, if you don't like the game, stop playing. Devs probably look at the numbers, if enough of you stop playing they'll notice.

Anyway, the endless bickering back and forth is annoying and useless. If you don't have fun, stop playing. Don't become the people who play every day and constantly complain about how bad it is. That's not healthy.

To anyone like me who just likes to play the game and can consistently have fun, I really appreciate you.

I came today back to dbd after my break. DBD is a fun game even with its certain flaws. Mine biggest reason for my break was, the gameplay was getting boring. There arent any other modes to do something new. Its always the same type of match with the same objectives and eventually it het boring.

Now i came back from my break and i can finally enjoy the game.

For Killers it is very important to look for the killer you like the most and have fun even when losing. For me that killer is bubba. Bubba is straight forward and always a good time. No tryharding, no toxicity but always good Times.

I really dislike people throwing out all the valid criticism with, "yelling and screaming" or pretending it's all toxic, instead of a lot of legitimate complaints with the occasional toxic take.

A big issue is some people can't take the loss and learn from it, it has to be anyone but there fault. Instead of learning from it they will complain complain complain. Sure there are strong things on both sides and benefits to each but i don't understand why it's necessary to always be hostile towards one another because of it.

I'm not throwing it out. If you really have a problem, make your voice heard. But the basic lack of civility people have is astounding. I can say, "hey Devs, I think perhaps Ghostface is a bit strong, maybe scale him down a bit," without saying, "devs absolutely do not care about us, if you play Ghostface you're literal cancer, go #########, devs should all be fired," yada yada yada.

I have my problems with the game. But I've played a lot of online games, and DBD is easily the most toxic I've ever played. If you aren't having fun, stop playing. It's what I did with F13.

    Well said! I totally agree!

criticism is alright and def needed, but it feels like there is lack of both positive and negative criticism and it’s mostly complaining.

    1. I first started playing before the Freddy rework, took a long break.

    2. A game is obviously buggy, whether or not you've played it before.

    3. I pay attention to what people say.

    I'll continue to complain, thanks.
