Is there going to be an official statement / recap of the issues with the Halloween event?
Recap:
- Halloween event was considered bad by large parts of the community
- new Halloween skins went on sale after being available for full price for a while
- new skins were never put on sale that quickly after being released
- there has never been a sale for Iridescent Shards prices before
- no one who bought the new Halloween skins for the old price is getting refunded fully or the difference between what they paid and the sale price
- the reasoning given for this, and to my knowledge the only communication regarding this, is "The EULA allows us to put skins on sale at any time and it also says there are absolutely no refunds in any way"
Everyone who bought the Halloween skins for full price before the sale feels betrayed by this. The only communication that I have seen was stating that the EULA allows this, with the implication that nothing is going to be done.
My question is this:
Will there be a sort of official final / postmortem statement regarding the Halloween event?
What I mean by this is an official statement / official news, summarizing the issues with the event, explaining steps that were taken to remedy the issues and also outlining why other steps were not taken, such as refunds. Followed up by a summary of what you, the developers, have learned from this event and what steps you will take in the future to avoid the issues of this event.
An example of what I mean by steps that can be taken to avoid these issues in the future: "For future events we will announce that skins will go on sale shortly after release before they are released on the store."

Yeah they need to do this cuz right now it just feels like there's a massive unresolved anger/conflict between the community and the devs.

Yep, and I think that even if nothing can / is going to be done about the Halloween event anymore, it's important to show that the same issues won't appear again in future events.

I honestly think it's absurd that they won't compensate people for this. And the fact that they haven't even commented on it shows they have no justification other than "we don't want to."

Maybe there is no real comment yet because the plan is to address all the issues in one big post, such as the kind of post I am asking about in this thread.

I believe the log in rewards were the fix Cote spoke about it and I don't think anything else is coming. I could be wrong but that stream was, what, a week ago? And nothing else has changed.

In the eyes of Behaviour there are no "issues" with the Halloween event. Look at the Steam chart. People are storming the game. History has shown that overpriced cosmetics and free weekends always pay off, because people are sheeps with too much money to spend.

I wouldn't hold my breath. My take on the dev response to the event is that they think we're square after "giving" us the bloodpoints and Iri shards. Despite massively mismanaging and irritating fans the whole way through, they probably think it went over pretty well.
I'm sure they have some "Statistics" to back that up.

One minor thing:
For a Halloween Sale you'd expect the older cosmetics for the established Halloween Event to go on sale at a consistent and good price at the very least, right?
And yet we have:
• Trapper, Wraith, and Hillbilly 75% off
• Hag & Plague 50% off
• Dwight, Doctor, and Clown 40% off
• Claudette & Huntress 30% off
• Jake & Spirit 20% off
Hope you wanted Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly, Hag, or Plagues' cosmetics because those are the only ones at a decent sale price really.

That was likely the only thing that was attempted to "fix" the event, but there might still be something coming up later. Or at the very least an acknowledgement that the event didn't work out as planned, the kind of "postmortem" that I am asking about.

ppffff, they will just be radio silent and burry this emberassing "event" so everyone forgets.

also: Unlike previous Halloween event u cant buy the skins from the halloween with an alternate currency than auric cells. Halloween 2019 u were able to buy halloween 2018 skins with vial currency OR auric cells. Now thats gone, auric cells only for Halloween 2018 and 2019 skins.

Doubt anything will happen. Looks for me like it's considerd "resolved/dealt with" with what they did. And the message with the "No refunds" approach seems quite clear as well. Looks like they consider those affected in such a minority that it's ok to screw them.
Next thing will be some devstreams and a teaser for the next Chapter and people will slightly forget about this mess until the next thing will cause an uproar again.

The login rewards were only a way to pump up their daily users, and a way to do damage control at the same time.
I've been with the game for two years, been through some downright awful changes. But this event is the worst I have felt out of any time I've played dbd.
The devs not doing a post mortem statement really shows how they don't really care that they got called out for trying to dip into our wallets more than usual.

They should really start making all cosmetics on 2 killers and 2 survivors 75% off every month. Meaning this month they could do idk like Pig and Trapper, Meg and David, then next month pick 2 new killers and 2 new survivors to make cosmetics 75% off. At this point it to buy all cosmetics for just one characters is ######### ridiculous given that we bought the game then spent over $100 just to have all the DLC.

Probably not. They 'may' issue an 'we're sorry' blog, and then do even worse next year. Or just sweep it under the rug as they continue to do, and claim it was a success during the anniversary event.

Definetly needs to be addressed. Personally I used the free auric cells they gave out for the Legion skin as it's creative amd made me want to play Legion (Credit where it's due, both Legion and GF got great Blight cosmetics). I didn't personally lose anything I didn't already have so I'm all good, but a good portion of the community did, and BHVR using the EULA to cover the absolute greedy and scummy action shows the people calling the shots really don't care.
Combine that with the fact that they broke PS4 for a week because they don't want to properly test things, a good portion of their customer base probably won't be making purchases soon

To be fair Halloween just ended, and it was a weekend. It makes sense to wait for the event to be over proper and then assess the situation. A statement might not be ready yet, but it should be possible to answer the question of whether or not one is coming.
