How to counter Unbreakable+SoulGuard+key

So i just had this game where i was wraith and there was a Jane/Yui/Dwight and Steve on Ormond.

As we all know gens went flying which is normal for that map no matter what killer you play, however they were really selfish. I hooked Jane first and started the chase with Yui, nobody saved Jane so she got killed first hook while Yui got forced on second hook due to no saving, however dwight saved Yui so i went after dwight, got him hooked, now 2 gens left and i find Yui being kind off silly jumping off the balcony in front of me when i was cloaked lol so dwight escapes and yui dies. Still haven't seen Steve btw, so Dwight got on second hook while i was looking for steve, found him finally but he managed to save dwight (hookbombing) without borrowed so i down him, then when Steve was hooked, i pick up dwight, DS HITS ME... guess i should've waited, my fault for "tunneling" xd.

ANYWAYS, steve gets off and i hook dwight who well gave up, so heres the thing, that happened at the end, i knew where hatch was so i found Steve not to far from it, downed him and closed the gate, if you read the title thats what he had for items and perks (forgot the two other perks).

so heres the scenario, i'm standing there with hatch closed waiting so i don't get hit with ds cuz i know he has a key, meanwhile he picks himself up with unbreakable but still has the key :) so i hit him NOPE soul guard... makes it out anyway.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW THIS IS CONSIDERED "FAIR".

If your answer is should've ran this perk or addon or played this killer then idk what to tell you cuz i seriously doubt anyone enjoys the "meta items and perks" i'm honestly bored of using ruin undying or pop just to slow down gens, i wanna run stuff like enduring with spirit fury and break pallets instantly or maybe mad grit with agitation, its dumb how people are litterally forced onto a metabuild just to have counterplay.

That's a pretty specific scenario you're bringing up. I would imagine it doesn't happen all that often.

As far as Soul Guard goes, the counter to it is that it only gives endurance (the free hit he gets) for 8 seconds. If you wait out the 8 seconds you can just down him again. In this case you could literally just stand on the hatch. It'll prevent him from opening it and escaping, then once his armor is gone you can down him and kill him. You'll know survivors have Soul Guard because they'll have a compulsive need to run straight at you the moment they heal off the ground.

If I see a key in my lobby I'll always bring Franklin's and despawn the key. It not only prevents them from using it but counters their addons/White Wards that allow them to keep it even if they die.

You can stand on the hatch so that the survivor can’t use their key. This would have required you anticipating him having Unbreakable, of course. The chances of this exact scenario happening to you again are slim, but next time, stand on the hatch while you wait out the DS timer and you’re basically guaranteed the kill.

@xenotimebong @TheWarNung Thanks for the tips, i didn't know you could block him from opening it, i'll be sure to do that next time, also bringing franklins seems overkill since i don't like swapping my build for someone using a key, i'd rather dodge the lobby and still keep my build, just my opinion. Thanks anyways.

No problem! You have to stand in one specific spot - if you look down at the hatch you’ll see a latch with a keyhole, stand on that.
