Penalties applied after losing connection (not intentionally)

I have been getting matchmaking bans and my addons have been being used up after games where I lose connection to the host immediately. Why am I being assigned penalties? It is making matchmaking very painful and frustrating.

    Because game can't tell if it was intentional or not. If losing connection didn't give penalty, unfair players would abuse it by turnng off internet or cable unplug.

    5 minute penalty for one random disconnection is not a big price for preventing that abuse. But if you losing connection often, you better fix your internet and not ruin games to other people.
