Does blocking actually do anything?

I was solo queued and I had a killer I wanted to block after the game and when I do it, I do so both in-game as well as on their steam profile. This time the killer was already blocked on steam so now I'm wondering if the in-game blocking does anything? Perhaps I just forgot to do it on both for this particular player?

I'm like 90% sure that blocking a player only keeps you from getting friend requests from them.

I think it just blocks them from the post-game chat and maybe friend requests.

Damn that sucks then. I was hoping you could that way at least filter out any past toxic players so that it's less likely to have those players ever again in the future, since the game doesn't let you even filter their inaccurate matchmaking in any slightest way, this would be the least they can give us but nope. :/

It is unfortunate. Late night you can be matched with the same people, which for me as a killer main isn't fun if they play better then me as a group. I play in the same room as my fiance and even same level at opposing roles I have been matched with her once in a series of about 100 trials.
