Question about Nurse and Spirit!

If you guys haven't read the bug fix already, one thing that is happening is that Rin's sound bug is getting fixed and I've seen maybe 1 or 2 post about it!

Back to the topic on hand I have a burning question about these 2 killer's!

Why is it justified and ok that Nurse is OP and can literally avoid survivor's mechanics and stop them from literally doing anything in a chase (once she catches on to survivor's pathing and juking patterns), but Spirit is the devil even though to a certain degree she can avoid survivor's mechanics?

Nurse leaves survivor's unable to rely on looping unless she's bad! If she's a decent to god tier Nurse than survivor's really can't do nothing but hope that she makes a mistake!

Granted Spirit leaves survivor's guessing but at the same time their also HOPING that she makes a mistake, and if she doesn't than survivor's are screwed!

Why is Nurse justified but Spirit isn't even though they both technically sit in the same pool of "breaking the game"

P.S. I'm currently a Spirit main and a retired Nurse main! I do play survivor, I just don't find survivor gameplay fun!

Killer Rank: 1

Survivor Rank: 4

Nurse does not leave survivors without options. You just don't "loop" a Nurse. You run to a LOS breaker, pay attention to where she aims, break LOS again, rinse repeat. Be unpredictable with pathing and maintain cover. Think of it like avoiding a sniper in a cover shooter. Use the Z walls at the edge of the maps and maintain as much distance as possible. Watch some competitive DbD to see how survivors run good Nurses. It's really interesting and informative. They'll show gameplay from the Nurse perspective and there are some survivors who you straight up can't see for the vast majority of the chase.

Because nurse is by far the most awful killer to learn how to play and less than 3% of all players are decent with her.

    The answer lies in interaction.

You can hear when Nurse charges up, determine how far she will go based on how long she charges up for, and see the direction she blinks in. With this in mind, you have a lot of indicators and information to react to what she is doing.

With spirit on the other hand, you have no indicator and no information other than how her power works. So with no information on your end, it just feels like you are mindlessly guessing and hoping for a favorable outcome.

First off, I love facing both spirit and nurse and I don't want any changes/nerfs to come to either as I enjoy their chase mechanics as they are now.

So, the main reason why is (generally speaking) because nurse is overall considered much harder to play & master and also has lowest movement speed in the game depending purely on her power to even have a chance to catch up.

Spirit is considered to be much easier to use as long as one is using headphones as she gets a lot of feedback to finish injured survivors thanks to the grunts of pain and other cues to land hits during her power.

Other then that, people complain a lot for spirit's lack of visual (or any other) feedback, you can see and hear nurse blinking on you but you don't really know what was spirit's pathing to land a hit on you during her phase walk. Most would probably want spirit to have something that at least partially showed them what is she doing during the phasing to let them know what they did wrong.

Nurse is balanced. Most people don't know how to play against her. You break LOS and be unpredictable. It's just a massive mindgame.

Spirit was balanced with the sound bug, because you could mindgame with the power and it was equally interactive on both sides.

I say this as a Nurse main who plays both sides.

    Killer Rank:1

Survivor Rank: 2 with four pips because I had a mori last match.

Nurse is apparently justified because so very many people have no real clue how to play her. That's what I keep getting told. People like to pretend that every Nurse is kind of dumb and just tries to predict what the survivors are doing, thus opening themselves up to giant amounts of counterplay, as opposed to reacting to what the survivors do and leaving them with no option but to Hold W because all you need to do is blink to the place they broke LoS and the survivors have no way of avoiding your second blink.

Not sure about Spirit, I think they just ignore the whole concept of in-chase counterplay and instead say that she needs to exist to kill the top 1%, please ignore that she stomps on the 99 and also gets stomped on by the 1% because most Spirits aren't that good.

The reason Nurse is okay is unless you master her, you won't be catching anyone. With spirit you can still try to M1 if you suck at phasing. As nurse your slower than the survivors until you build bloodlust. This is to counter act the fact she can go through walls. If you can't blink as Nurse your not going to get many kills. She is very difficult to get good with and she is very buggy. Since her rework your fighting the game as much as the survivors. Since her bugs are bad and because of her difficulty, the % of good Nurse players is very low. Spirit is common at higher ranks so that is why more people are complaining about Spirit. There's simply more of them.

I never understood that argument either lol. I sort of like nurse right now because honestly I'll take a Nurse over the usual garbage we have to deal with. Though I imagine my opinion would drastically change if more people didn't have the herd opinion that she's now "unplayable" because you now have to wait a whopping 6 extra seconds to use her power again.

I think another reason why people think she's fine compared to Spirit is because you get full information about what she's doing. You know exactly when she's starting a blink, how far it's gonna go, where she's travelling to all through numerous visual and audio cues so it doesn't feel as BS as it does against Spirit. Sure there's still next to nothing you can do about it if they're good but at least it doesn't come out of nowhere with no kind of warning and the nurse had to actually do something to get you.

    Nurse is fine because /high_skill_ceiling.exe

Play her for a month non stop minimum and you might have an idea about what I'm talking about.

Probably will need a month or two on top of that tbh.

Why don't you play nurse for a while?

To be honest nurse was the killer i mained before the nerf. And after that, she's literally unplayable. That cooldown is very annoying, and kills all the joy playing as her. Not to mention game-breaking bugs, and all the troubles you need to get through to be somehow decent at her.

The difference I've found with Spirit compared to Nurse is feeling that there is counterplay.

To counterplay a Nurse, you break LoS, juke blinks, be unpredictable, etc. Now, a good Nurse (as I'm sure you're aware as an ex-Nurse main) can work around this, but the counterplay is existent.

The issue with Spirit is that you never know ######### she's doing. Is she phasing so you can try to trick her? Or is she faking and now knows where you are/where to phase to? One of the reasons why the bug that had moan while phasing made is easier to determine what she's doing, so it opened the option of counterplaying, so you don't feel so helpless. Again, a good Spirit had 0 problems working around this, but at least the survivors didn't feel completely helpless.

I hope I explained it well enough for you to understand.

Sincerely, Legion main trying to learn Spirit.

Because people fight more good spirits than amazing nurses. I personally think they both have their problems but no one plays nurse so no reason to complain

i just want them to make it so i can hear her footsteps again like she used too people did not complain as much about her when that was a feature but then it bugged and they never fixed it

If you're a retired nurse main you should know that survivors that don't autopilot are the most difficult ones to catch as nurse.

And no, currently the game is breaking her and not the other way round.
