I agree, October has gameβs highest peak players in its history at 77k+. Itβs doing fine.

"*Insert* *Game* *Here* is dying!" Posts have existed for pretty much every game and will continue to exist, especially when people look at stats as the only thing that matters. They're annoying, but they're never gonna stop.

To be fair though, the Halloween events have always brought gamers back to DBD. BHVR also incorporated the first blood hunt in God knows how long which is enough to bring back casual gamers, not to mention they paid Ninja a small fortune to play the game for his millions of followers which also resulted in more players. DBD also had free play weekends which also drove up those numbers.
Everything that the DBD player base continues to complain about is still very much present in the game: bugs, glitches, poor matchmaking, no training mode, lack of gameplay modes, etc. These are the very things that stopped people from playing in the first place, and unless things change for the better, you'll see these numbers from October fall quite drastically.

They are ready drop but to 30k Avg. Players per month.

If you look at October and November entries in the Steam charts from this and prior years youβll see that the game always has a population decline in these months, contrary to the myth that βOctober is their best month because of Halloweenβ. The reason is that their declines and increases are tied their dlc releases, not Halloween, and the DLC chapters happen quarterly a month or two prior to October.
Now if the next winter DLC doesnβt bring in many players, and there is a relatively big decline after that, then that would be a sign that maybe the game is in decline. But so far all the charts show is the normal periodic increase and decrease from DLC and an overall upward trend year over year with the current month having the highest peak play in the gameβs history.

I mean to be fair the game is dying.
As are you and everything else.
Doesn't matter who or what you are, we all only have a limited time and it will someday run out.
Momento mori

This is only rivaled by those people who respond, "but that would kill the game" to any suggestion they don't like.

It's unlikely these will stop. League of Legends had these threads from its inception until they closed the forums about 9 years later! :D

Well that was alamo's one post a day. Gooooooooddang it we wasted it /s

Thanks for making me feel old /s

This is so stupid and I feel so cheap and bad about doing this, but can you check out my Bioshock and Alien concept? I worked really hard on them and I don't want them to go to waste. You don't even have to like or comment, just knowing that someone important read my concept would be enough.

The game itself is awesome, but the development, man...

This game is like an abusive partner.
You love it but it does everything in it's power to hurt you.
You know you should leave it but you keep coming back hoping it's changed. This time will be different, you whisper to yourself.
But it never is.

Not a joke in console-land. Still waiting for the Hideout update.

Bro, what are you talking about? I'm looking at the forums and none of the post pertained to this game meeting its demised. Its mostly people discussing swift gen times, camping, and Demo's portals. Do you mean the subreddit? I'm lost.

Last Gen versions were abandoned. Then they rebooted on current gen with Crimewave edition. From there it's been nothing but empty promises and occasionally dumping all the holiday gimmick levels.
Last I checked we got some sort of coin exchange thing and an endless mode.
Edit: They had an update recently, but it was to remove Scarface from the game. Huh.

I agree

Gotcha. Keep up the great work:D

Of course they're not gonna stop.
Because one day they will be right, it's kinda inevitable with online-only games.
2 -
That's exactly what I thought.

Why compare a competitive 5vs5 game with an asymmetric 1vs4 game? Each game has its style. I love the DBD vs LOL comparisons.

I hope it is. No better justification to finally break this game off than "I physically cannot play it thanks to the awful player count."

I know.
Itβs ridiculous.
These claims are often borne purely from particular players dismay at the game, or personally experience long queues, or based purely off of steam stats.
Because, you know, Sony, Microsoft, Mobile, and Nintendo are myth and legend.

DBD will die in the future π

We'll ya I guess so.

I haven't seen a single post saying that the game is dying. People say that when they personally are done with it, and for some reason can't stand other people having fun with the game when they themselves could not.

The game already died. That's what makes it a horror game.

Good one lol

I dunno about that. If anything, I consider this to be an open relationship and I use it just like it uses me. No hard feelings.
